Well I can give you digital for 6 months with 3 pay channels… hbo, showtime , stars for only 7.99 more than what your paying for 6 months…
I’m at school right now…CMU…but I can tell you that I’m not a huge Comcast fan. The prices have risen like $10 in the past three years and there are only a few more channels now – and the new ones blow anyhow. Digital cable through them is awesome, but it’s expensive as hell. Then you factor in $50/month for cable internet on top of that. I mean, honestly, if you get digital + internet you’re looking at $120/month to Comcast. With extended basic or whatever I have it’s still almost $100/month to Comcast. I just can’t see the value in that. I’m pushing for the dish. I’ve lost cable in my area enough times, for hours, that I could survive without the dish working every now and again. Although from what my neighbors with dishes have said it doesn’t even happen with a frequency to cause annoyance. At least I’d feel like I was getting a better value.

as good if not better than cable. great picture, more channels, as many DVR on Demad features, way cheaper for 2 Digital with DVRs setups compared to cables 1 basic, 1 digital with DVR setup.

I had dish for bout 2 years now. Never had a problem with " wind or snow or rain" Always worked. Has great features like " caller id" so u dont gonna get off ur ass if someones calling u can just see it on ur tv. And u get speed vision for free
i have a dish and it works fine but i just like comcast better
i’ve had both… cable is far better. for one the channels are still the same as basic cable… on dish mtv, fox, and other such channels are like in the 300’s
and dish goes out all the time even if it rains just a little bit. same with dsl, dsl suck dick! it goes out every half hour and takes like 10 mins to re connect only to cut out once again for another 20 mins
DSL can be affected by many things, even Christmas lights. I would try replacing the equipment or figure out if there is a pattern why it goes out.

I got standard cable because I need internet, but don’t have a home phone… so dish + dsl package is out of the question.
same goes with dial-up, would have costed more than cable internet after getting a useless phone-line.
29.99/m for cable TV and 24.99 for internet for 6 months, then it hops to 49.99 and 42.99.
If Verizon is your provider, you can call and ask for a “Dry Line”. It is a basic DSL line without the phone. They will try to sell you regular phone service, but insist on the dry line.
Cable > Dish
You get what you pay for, No service down and excellent cablemodem speed. can you match 800-950 kb a sec with limewire downloads on Dish???
Plus On demand movies whenever you want to watch them > dish
our tv is dish, have no problenms w/ it. our intenet is dish as well, through directway. the net is slow as balls compared to a cable setup.
