So last monday Josh “yunvme666” and myself flew out to Sacramento to pick up my 2000 turbo Miata. We didn’t get there till 11:40pm so we stayed at a hotel that night and the seller picked us up the next day after work. He was able to get out early but they wouldn’t give him the day off due to vacation he was taking in a couple weeks.
But anyways after talking to him a bit, going to the bank and getting all the funds straightened out, and than wasting time at the DMV for them to tell us just to drive it back on the California plates, we were off.
Was thinking about taping the whole car but that would have took to long seeing as the front took me an hour. Yeah I can be a perfectionist at times, and this was one of those times. After all the shit we drove threw and taking the tape off the front makes me wish I had taped up the whole car.
We were driving around a bit, just checking out all the casino’s and what not, than I decided to leave at just the right time. The car was attracting a bit of attention and a cop had followed us right out of town. LAWLZ
First fill up on e85 since we got out of Sacramento. There was E85 in Salt Lake, but it was pointless because we would have to fill back up on 91 a couple times.
We didn’t really take any pics from after half way threw Nevada as it was just boring. Over all was a fun trip, car is running great and I couldn’t be happier right now. I’ll get more pics of the car itself but right now it is pretty filthy and needs a good scrubbing.
Here are some engine pics, these are from the previous owner, it is quite dusty now from the ride home.
Nice pickup and must have been a fun time. I bet two dudes travelling together in a Miata and staying together made some locals a bit suspicious.
:skunk:
he got 307 at like 16lbs on a godspeed 3076, little laggy but it moves well and has lots of room to turn it up once hes used to it…lol… ill eventually add a bit more timing too its soo undertuned right now…lol…
Thanks for all the complements, and it’s actually around 280ish on 16psi right now, 307 is on 18psi. I’m thinking it needs to be turned up to 18 already lol. It’s definitely a blast to drive!
driving didnt take all that long reall we left monday night got back friday night, but we stopped in utah at salt lake city for a at like 11:30 am till 7 am so took alot off driving, then slept on the side of an off ramp somewhere in iowa for like 2 hours another night…lol… i was soo wired off coffee i still couldnt sleep for hours after i got home…lol… it could have been faster if we didnt hit the construction zones, or have to drive a bit out of the way off the thruway to get more e85… it really wasnt bad tho…
have to wait for him on price, but i had it getting about 24mpg at 4200rpm doing 80 across the country. i didnt think that was too bad for e85 and 2 tanks of 91 because no one had 93… hell i seen 85 down out in wyoming…lol…
