hey if you upgrade cams do you HAVE to upgrade valvesprings even with a mild cam ? or does aftermarket cams and stock springs lead to float
Are you Running SR, or KA?
If your running the SR it’s nutorious for valve floating… Get a set of the Greddy rocker arm guards. I know a shop that carries a lot of SR20 parts in stock all the time. If you need them, let me know and I’ll PM you the info on them. That’ll solve your float problem…
However, if your going to take off the cams (all of this is assuming you have an SR) I’d recommend doing the springs. If you can afford it. It’s worth it. I did both to my SR and all is well in the land of boosting

Short answer - you do not need to upgrade your valve train on mild cams. I personally am getting 264’s Step 1’s and have no intention of upgrading.
There are many examples of guys running more agressive cams that this with nothing done.

you see there was a straight section i was trying to link in 2nd, and with the limiter set at 72xx i would lose the drift JUST JSUT JSUT before i had to thrwo the car the other way
set it to 7750 and made it, but then later found out i broke a rocker arm. but htat was the same day i blew my engine. I really beat the shit out of Sandra that day :oops:

thats another possibility, i dont think i took the valve cover off until i “fully” blew my engine up. so either way, the rocker flew off while on the rev limiter. whether it was 15seconds or 2 seconds is the question
