Can get the 2 motor mount bolts out (240sx SR20)

I am pulling the SR20 out of my 240sx to swap into a almost rust free 240sx.

i have everything out and off the engine so its ready to come out exept the 2 motor mount bolts. I treid removing them but i couldnt get then to budge.

I was wondering if i have to start lifting the enging with a hoist to remove some of the tension?(just a thought)

or do i spray penetrating oil on it and reef on it till its off?

some help would be much appreciated

(need the engine out tomorrow, wednesday)

I had a smiliar problem but it was getting it in. After hours of screwing around we hoisted the engine enough and loosened the bolts from the bottom and the engine pop right in place so I would think that yes hoist it up and that will relieve tension and allow you to loosen them.

*why are you taking the bolts out anyway?? Is it because you are having troubles getting the motor off the mounts? We just kept hosting it until we heard a loud POP and then the motor came out of the mounts. So if I was you I would keep hosting and hosting until it pops out its ALOT easier.

^^ I think he is having trouble removing the nuts on the bolts, not actually getting the mounts off of their perch.

Use penetrating oil (the Gunk stuff works great) and get a torch and heat the nut up. It never fails for me.

I undid them from underneith. Therefore you don’t have to lift of the motor, that would only put more tension on that bolt.

X2.

It’s really hard to take some parts especially on some confined space, I made and engine swap myself removing Motor and Transmission Mount Kit, took me quite some time to have all put back under the hood.
