over the last 3 months her has become so bad as far as being house-broken. i’ll walk that fucker a mile before bed, and he will come home and shit out on the entryway floor. so over the weekend he has turned it up a notch. 3 times shortly after i walked him he came over near me and pissed right on the floor.
Kind of dog? age? and we delt with the same thing with Bo. You have to re house break him. also if he is shitting a lot try to find a dog food that doesn;t use a lot of fillers like I think corn meal because they can’t digest it so thats why they shit 3 times a day. Also only feed the dog once in the morning and once in the evening limiting it to cup(s) depending on size and food recommendations.
I agree, it could be wanting attention, therefore what better way to do that than to piss on the floor right by you?
Don’t put it to sleep just because it’s having problems. Have it checked out by a vet and make sure he’s not sick…or find a good home. THat would be horrible to put it down just for not being housebroken…
Anyhu, I agree with what the others said about not paying attention. Sure its great you walk the puppy when its most convienant for YOU but usually thats not the time IT needs to go. You just need to learn the dogs signals. My dog used to sniff around a little to much and have that “I am gonna take a dump right here and there is nothing you are going to do about it” look. Regardless if he had to go he went outside and fast! Try and get the puppy on a schedule. It usually only takes an hour after they eat to have to go to the bathroom. Good Luck though –
Welcome to puppy world…Took my dog a long time to finally break the habit. You cant just go outside and expect it to do what you want it to do. You gotta tell it go pee and poop…it will learn the words. When it does reward the dog with a treat or just pet him and let it know it did good. After a while it will understand the word pee or poop or outside…Anytime I ask my dog want to go outside or pee. he goes mad and jumps around all excited and everything. I say you got about another 3months or so before it starts to get under control
just be careful with the treats. I had a dog that would take a little dump, come for it’s treat, then take another little dump 2 minutes later so it could get another treat. Damn thing was smart…
What kind of dog?? I’d rather take him and have two dogs pissing on my floors, than have you put him to sleep just for that…
If you take him to a shelter, and tell them the truth about why you are getting rid of him, they will put him to sleep (Yes, the animal rescue league said they would put my dog to sleep if I brought him there…).
Mine too! If I grab a plastic bag, he thinks it’s time to take a walk, since every time we walk, I take a plastic bag w/ me to clean up his shit. Starts going nuts running around jumping and barking. Otherwise he lays on the floor quiet as a mouse.
How old is the dog?
Don’t you have a baby in the house?
Both Eurodad and the SNS could be right. The dog may just be jealous because the baby is getting too much attention. Or it could be some sort of infection.
No vet on the planet will permit you to put a dog to sleep for the reasons you have provided… run an ad and give it away.
