can it ever be justified to buy a fast new car

My dream is the M6, about the same specs but a bit more expensive. In reality, it is dumb because the car is worth more than some people’s houses but hey, everyone has their own interests and hobbies. If you have disposable income, what the hell. Just gotta make sure you are putting something away unless you are expecting to work until you die.

I’d never waste my money on a new car when lightly used examples are available with massive depreciation already paid for by the first sucker.

Based on the price and what you’re talking about putting down do you really want a 1300+ car payment?

Sounds like you need to practice self control and financial responsibility.

You want to talk idiocy?

<–this guy just put $1,500+ in repairs on top of the purchase price for a 17 year old Volvo that I already paid just a bit too much for. All that just to make it safe and “reliable”. I’ll never get that back when it comes time for me to get rid of it and I’m considering what I would call tasteful modifications on top of THAT.

I lick windows.

It’s a disease.

Final thought: Do whatever makes you happy, because in the end it doesn’t really matter what we think. It’s your car and your money.

Which Volvo?

The other day I figured out that I could have paid cash for my house if I never cared about what I drove or modded my cars. I don’t think I’ll ever regret spending all that money on cars.

It’s in my sig. '98 S70 T5 AW50-42.

Dope, how did I miss that? Is it a manual? Pictures?

Oh, probably because I never made a new car thread. I didn’t think anyone on here would give a shit. No, unfortunately. It’s a fucking slushbox and I only have like one halfway decent picture of it right now.

I’m a Volvo fan. Post the photo!

Lol. Nice. I’ll do you one better and make a new car thread of my own so as to not completely derail this one. Wait one. . .

Get the hell cat charger. 4 doors and 10s on slicks with warrentee and $60k

If you’re looking at at RS7 you need to look at a P85D Model S even if it’s just for shits-n-giggles.

I feel like 11’s are very achievable in used luxury cars that are well under your 100k example

Consider savings some considerable dough and just buying an S6?

why buy a watch, why go on a vacation? it’s a hobby, just don’t let it take over your life too much.

To answer the thread title, yes, it can be justified.

Can it be justified when you’re not making mid 6-figures+? No.

+1. You will mod everything you buy, especially when there’s cheap hp to be had.

Those 100k+ cars are ‘ok’ buys second/third hand. First owners lose big and pay big insurance premiums.

I think $100k just for a 11 second car is a joke. 1 series that knows how to launch at the track can hit 12.0-12.2 with just the $400 tune. People are pulling low 11s with less than $7k in upgrades.
