as a whole, i dislike it when people cant come up with a decent title for a thread … stuff like “look: cool!” is a poor thread title
its even worse when people post for sale or WTB threads that say “WTB: parts” or “fs: stuff”
and its even worse when people dont give any extra info in the thread … stuff like “im looking for spare parts for my honda” … OH COME ON! … what year is your car ? model? what kind of parts do you want ?
can we maybe set a minimum acceptable thread title ? it would help both the person thats posting the ad AND the person that would either
A)want whats being sold or
B)has the parts that are wanted
Hit the “report post to mod” button. That way one of us sees it. If the guidelines say put a description, and there is none then maybe we should start deleting the really bad ones.
^ thats an excellent idea rx3. there could always be a general sticky at the top like “use this template for posting” that users could just copy, paste, and add their info to.
Ricks idea is a good one but thats just going to cause a million “Where did my thread go?” threads.
Unfortunately there is no way to run a perfect internet forum. Do you propose everyone who signs up takes a class learning proper forum etiquette? No? Then just deal with it. I know there are some things that suggestion threads will help with, but this is not one of them. It is only going to cause more irritation for the mods/everybody.
idk man, what she corrected was something my 7th grade english teacher would have corrected and then called me a retard for.
knowing the difference between your and you’re does not make you a journalism major. actually, it doesnt even mean you are smart…just that you sound more educated than a child.
well when 7th graders start spending their summers doing as much fabrication work as ill be doing this summer, then ill give a fuck that i made a simple spelling error
if i actualy cared about my spelling, i could run a spell check
Keep this on topic please. If you spell easy words incorrectly you might look like an idiot but that does not mean it’s necessary to point out in a thread where the focus is NOT spelling and grammatical correctness. If correct spelling is a necessary function of a thread (e.g. person’s name, etc…) then it should be pointed out. If you want to grade someone’s spelling, please do it in PM’s rather than oust them in public.
