I’ll have to try and get one when I head back over that way. Meant to get one today, but forgot the camera.
not a bridge but fast foward to 30 seconds …http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gxTuEC8RMzE
Lol. The blob.
Is there a landing zone up stream from the letchworth bridge?
I don’t think so. I looked at a few pics.
Have you ever jumped in a downtown location, like off a building? I assume that 10 stories is too low for that…
It looks like the water can get really low at times… maybe I’ll have to do a midnight raid sometime…

Yes, but not off a building. I have 3 jumps in downtown buffalo. 10 stories is too low… that’s about 125’… that’s barely enough time to fly and flare and you have to tuck and roll the landing… here’s a vid:
180 to 200 is a good building height so long as it’s got a decent landing zone… so about 17+ stories.
any footage of the local jumps?
some, yes. but no way in hell am i posting it online lol.
The Central Terminal would probably be a good height to jump from. If only you would have gotten to it before they locked it down.
Shit, you probably did.

We went there on Christmas. Literally drove up just to look at it from inside my car and boom a cop pulled up right behind me.
Holland has those two, I grew up between two of them. Channel 7 is 1700ft
Yeah there’s always a cop sitting next to it. ALWAYS.
False.

lol jump off the one at Main and LaSalle behind Timewarner/Level3
:snky:
Yeah, when the water is low(especially in the summer through early fall) the banks are pretty open. I’ve seen that ledge in the photo you posted with even less water. Might be worth scouting out.
I’m not sure how practical it would be, but there’s also a bend in the river in Letchworth with a pretty shear face, and plenty of open shore line along the river. It’s either Great Bend or inspiration point. I don’t recall which.
hrmmm, been a while since I’ve been by there and read the sign. Have to look again, I thought it was 1700. How high can you “safely” climb during transmission? If one were to do so… which is completely unfounded, and I know you would never do that.
I’ve been to the base of the stinger but never onto it. I was watching a show about antenna repair and they were on the stinger itself while it was broadcasting, they only shut it down for its removal.

Yes. I’ve heard of it. however cliffs that are fairly low like that and NOT overhung get REALLY dicey in the event of a more than 90 degree off-heading opening…

despite gennaro’s :snky: it has never been jumped and may remain that way. Crappy LZ and pretty urban.
Still working to get a picture of the crane at Unity park Ridge, but looks like there might be another at Rochester medical center too:
