The Tweeter install dimentions for nthe high end (My Nissan) are
1" deep, 1 7/8 cut out diameter
the ones in my subie are the same, they are both 25mm tweeters.
Does a “proper mounting plate” always use 3 different types of screws? And does it matter which corner each screw goes in?
hahaha well I was not counting those, but most of the holes were stripped and well the mettal was a little thin to tap, so you just put a big ass one on there and she is not going anyware
It sounds good and that you can not deny
and I got a price on the 8 for you but it was not good enough so I am lookin for a better deal.
Sounds good buddy.
do you have any problems with the speaker surround hitting the door panel?
i made a similar looking mounting plate but the surround touches the door skin
maybe the speaker isn’t low profile enough??
When I crank It it does touch, that is something I am going to look at changing in the spring. ALso the drivers in my door have MAD Xmax for some nuts mid-bass, So I am sure that that is also not helping much.
Ill let you know when I come up with a good solution
bensons a car audio nerd.
Hahahahaha, Thanks
It is what Pays the bills
since were on the topic
i got KICKER SS65.2 components for the front, and KICKER SSMB6 for my rear.
i would like to mount my components up front in some way where i could use what kickers are best for, their grills. However if i were to mount them to the door, they wouldn’t be flush with the Carbon Fibre panels i have.
?'s are:
- if i mount them to the CF panel, will i get a lot of distortion in the sound?
- if i mount them to the CF panel, will they crack?
if anyone could give me some advice on that it’d be greatly appreciated
sry googler, I have no idea…but I did see a thread where someone drilled 6x9’s on the outsides of the front door panel, and it fit perfectly, and the grill could be mounted onto it, since it was not behind the panel.
btw, I just picked up a 10" Infinity Reference 250W RMS sub in a little enclosure with a Rockford Fosgate P200.2 amp, so I guess I’ll be returning the 6x9’s that I was planning to use instead of subs lol. The problem is that the sub is a dual voice coil 4 ohm, so I can either wire it as 2 ohm parallel, or 8 ohm series. I have a 2 channel amp thats 2 ohm stable, but 4 ohm stable bridged, so I guess I’ll go one channel 2 ohm load, pushing 100W RMS. I hope its loud enough.
How did you guys go on securing your subwoofer enclosures? Drilling nervously bites nails? Velcro??? I wanna put it right against the rear seat since it looks like this from the side (angled): /_| lol
