my car is stalling… it feels like the car is going to choke when you take off… also after you change gears it shakes violently that you literally shake back and forth inside the car… this was on before and it became worse when i installed the intake… also the rpm gauge is on .5 revs on idle not on 1ooo rpm…
like when you take off you depress the gas pedal to the metal sometimes right? the car chokes and like there is no power when i do this. little power delivery is only felt after 2000 going to 3000 rpm…
but, that has happened to my buddy before, he was just cruising at 120 and it would shake back and forth as if the engine is struggling, this was back in january around the winter time,. he put in some oil and then it was fine after.
100% to do with MAF, ive tried before running a setup with a custom MAF on a CAI, but it never works, use the original MAF that comes with the engine, check the connectors, from dirt, damage or poorly connected socket, and MAF wire’s, it is not the spark plugs, they only spit, when you are racing or flooring it and you feel a sudden dead point in your accel.
Also make sure if you have made or using custom made MAF ADAPTER, that there is no leak, usually, the OEM MAF is the best, also check for the MAF cyclinder, inside you should see the groves for the air flow, make sure those are clear and not blocked.
If you still have problems, check your ECU for air flow stability with your MAF and aftermarket intake running, it could also be because you installed a new engine and require tuning, though i don’t know if you are doing a swap…
If you still have problems get your MAF tested, get new spark plugs if its been a while, check your TB (Throttle Body) check your Accel wire play, check for slack, and the wires connected to thses items…extra, also find out about your feul tank, if its original and old, it could have parts and debris, it uaually gives the choking and jerking effect you got, when the fuel line gets clogged, you will know this is true if you only get this if you drive usually with low feul.
thanx for d 411 bro. cleaned the MAF today still nothing… im thinking that maybe its the piping and MAF adapter now i cheked the TB before installing the intake it seemed ok.
^^^^that is way to loww, it should be around 700rpm to 800rpm for a nice quiet idle, below 700 will definately give you what you are describing, now the question is is it simple as to do with timing, or simply adjustments, or the other worse type, finding the problem thats causing this low idle. get a error code check, to find the problem, it could take alot more time on your own manually to find the problem.
Because this kind of problem is related to air and fuel mixture, the sucky part is all the electrical engine and fuel systems just do that, so it might be trying to find a needle in a hay stack…Got to use computer diagnostics or a mechanic who knows because they fix a similar problem before, i say a computer never lies…
dump the gas tank to get the crap outta it.
pull the pump and clean the inlet “BAG filter”.
pull the fuel rail and blow backwards through it…
i had a guy with the same issues and a part of his fuel filter broke free and was intermittently blocking an injector.
run the engine at about 2k rpm and touch all teh plug wires at the ends…get a zap?..its that wire…you will very likely get zapped…it only hurts for a sec.
does it still have egr??
if so try to clean teh carbon outta there…if she sticks open she’ll idle like sht and flub the mix at higher rpm’s…
