The car has a redtop sr20 and won’t start unless it is boosted. There seems to be not enough juice to kick in the fuel pump. The fuel pump is a Walbro 255. I checked the fuses, have a brand new battery, brand new alternator and checked the fuel pump(swapped a new one in to check). After the car was boosted and ran for about 10 minutes, I shut it off. I tried to start it and you can’t hear the fuel pump buzzing but it is trying to start.
sounds like a loose connection somewhere … cant tell you where but thats what it sounds like, if u can hear the pump that usually means you have fuel pressure, check to make sure you have spark under crank ? possibly new battery is a defective unit ?
Thanks. I’ll check the connections again and get the new battery checked. It did the same thing with the old one. Strange it will start and run when it has been jump started.
same thing happend to my 240 before i sold it.
the battery is gone. or the connection terminal rings are covered in acid or corroded.
change the batt terminals then change the battery if that didnt work.
