Need help car wont start.

Hi All

Year old ka to sr redtop swap but now noticing car wont start, installed new battery, the only thing I can hear is the new fuel pump ingaging, starter not turning, but here is the thing it only start not by booster battery from Canadian Tire but by another car that has to revved up to get my car turns over and start, I even tried 2 new batteries side by side but still won’t start, need help on where to start, greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Have you checked that your starter isnt screwed and drawing all the current? This may be why it will only start with a runnuing car boosting it-check the starter and all its wiring connections-and make sure its not mechanically screwed !

Depending on how you are boosting it, perhaps the booster cables are completing the circuit?
Also check for battery sucking grounds, could cause a quick drain. Plug a multi meter to it and check the voltage of a brand new battery when you put it in. Than try to start it or just sit there and monitor the voltage. If you see it dropping you have a problem. Oh and typical voltage during operation is 14 so if its reading significantly lower once you get it started you have a problem in your charging circuit.

Good Luck!

You know sometimes this car would just start instantly without hesitation/problem just when you think you’re good to go then it wont start, its very unpredictable.

sounds like shitty wiring/bad grounds/shorts in the wires…

Do some searching around cause you may have a loose cable that is grounding everynow and than suckin life outa your battery, or a frayed power wire doing the same.
