Yeh I took my car out to cayuga this wednesday to see what she would run at the track after doing a couple mods and with my recently installed AEM wideband it showed that it would be running 10:1 with full throttle down the track even dropping to 9.8:1 at one point. Is this still safe for the car to be running at? Im running 11 pounds on a basically stock SR except for a mines tuned ecu that I got in my clip and I dont know what its doing(assuming its dumping fuel). Car also has 3inch exhaust.
Another question I got is 1-3rd my car will run a solid 11 pounds but in 4/5 it will be able to stay at a solid 14 or so. Running a turbosmart boost controller if this matters. Any idea why this is happening thanks.
Whhhaaa? Your numbers dont make sense. Do you mean 10:1?
Id say you are really flooding your engine with fuel. Whether its safe or not is debatable. If that was at idle Id say I wouldnt be running a car like that since the issue is that with that much fuel being dumped into your combustion chamber it can actually wash the cylinder walls off oil and eventually the pistons will score the walls.
However, if its at WOT then I wouldnt say you are doing any damage. YOu either need to get a tune or get rid of that ECU since its just eating fuel and costing you power.
You will not make as much power running 10.1 A/F TUNE it for 11.1 to 11.6 leanerr you get is faster the car will be, but if you run to lean and knock say good bye to your engine. Also change your oil ASAP all that fuel not being burn, will get pass your rings and then into your oil.
