Evening!
I’ve actually had two cars shipped here through them. My experiences:
Bought a car on ebay for cheap, NYC area. Searched around and got quotes (email) from 5 or 6 places. Trusty came in as the cheapest, and the actual rep called me to confirm the email quote. Nice guy. It’s been a while, but I think I might have paid ~300-400. The rest of the quotes were ~600. This was insured for $1k (the car value was ~800).
I placed the order with Robbie (?), and the car was scheduled to go on a multi car hauler (like the dealerships) 4-5 days from that day. Scheduled 3 day transit. Well, they emailed me the 2nd day of transit - the truck broke down. They had a flatbed meet the truck within 6-8 hours, pick up my car & paperwork, and bring it the rest of the way here. I they did all of this proactively (I didnt have to bitch or anything). Car got here in 3 more days.
More recently (this summer), I had another car shipped here, from New Hampshire. I only quoted 2-3 other places this time, Trusty was still ~100 cheaper then the competitors (insured to $2500). Placed the order, they picked up within a couple days. The seller called me to confirm they picked it up and informed me that the driver was “pretty cool guy, polite”.
The car got here in 2 days. The guy regularly drove a similar route, so he picked up the car one morning, made a few miles, slept, then drove here through the wee hours. Delivered the car ~730 a.m… I was already commuting to work, but the wife took delivery.
Per Her accounting: This time it came in a enclosed trailer, like a race car, towed by a big chevy (1ton pickup). Guy was very sweet, and pushed it right into the driveway for her (she steered, battery was dead). Mind You - I live ON Niag. Falls Blvd. She tipped him $70.
These are the only two times that I’ve shipped any car, so I dont have anything to compare it too. Based on this, I would recommend them in a heartbeat. Oh, when they picked up the car both times, the driver walked around it with the sellers and noted on a worksheet any existing damage, the seller had to sign off. When they got here, they would walk around the car with me/wife to show that they hadnt damaged it.
The only negative that I remember is that it was hard to contact Truty by phone (at the office which is in AZ i think). So I would email them, and get a response (or call) within 4-6 hours (during business hours of course).
IIRC, they were a small company that basically acted as a broker / dispatcher. Think AAA - dispatch an order to “approved” independants.
Hope it helps - and good luck!
