uhh… yeah. empty tank? dunno about that one.
and how is a full tank a waste of money? you won’t have to get gas when you take the car out in the spring…
(plus you will most likely have paid less for that tank of gas in the winter)

When I stored my B15 last year, this is what I did.
-Warmed up the engine, engine flush, oil change and over fill the crankcase so that oil is completely keeping the front and back engine main seals wet. Normally the oil level you put in only covers the seal half way…Of course drain and change the oil next season before you start it back up…believe it or not, oil turns acidic in an enclosed (or poorly ventelated) environment.
-Drained tranny oil and put in fresh stuff, again over filling it so the oil will keep the drive shaft seals wet…again change it next season.
-Filled up tank and poured in gas stabilizer, ran engine for a while. Again drain it next season and put in fresh gas. Sour gas is not good on injectors.
-Topped up all fluids.
-Put about 8- 1 pound bags of descent dryer in the interior of the car. Some in engine compartment.
-Clay bar, polish, and wax the car, good wash, good interior clean.
-Hooked up a 1-amp battery charger to keep the battery charged up.
-Air up the tires (50 or so pounds) so when you bleed them back out next season, what little flat spot thats on the tire would almost be next to impossible to feel; but then with tires being made so well today flat spotting is almost non exsistant I have to say.
-Take the wipers off and putting the arm back down SLOWLY (or you’ll smack your windshield). If you leave your wipers on, the rubber on it hardens and cracks and no longer does a good job next season.
-Good car cover, keeps dust off.
What to do with all those drained out oil and gas next spring? That’s what beaters are for…
This is a VERY useful thread!
Thanks everyone
EDIT: One more thing, whats that ‘storage’ insurance called again, where its specifically for situations like these? How much is it generally, and who brokers it?
what about driving all the way up here? that should have been mentioned, cars in storage need a long as drive when there in the middle of being stored. lol
Umm what i did is i just called up BelAir and told them i was storing my car. Fire and theft, thats all. 18 bucks a month biotch.
if you put gasline antifreeze in the tank you dont have to worry about condinsation
