Do we do car things anymore? I just added a 72 c-10 to the fleet. Meet the pumpkin
Damn that thing is CLEAN!
I think most still do car things, but politics scares them away.
Pretty sweet use of 12-17, 1911s ![]()
Lol. I was assuming 30k worth of entry level 1911s
That truck is gorgeous! I still do lots of car stuff and Motocross stuff, but nobody in here wants to talk about it .
I just picked up a Kayo 230 and tossed a carb in it. Honestly the thing is sweet for dirt cheap. I was about to pull the trigger on a new KTM390 then this truck popped up.
I’ve been restoring a few 80’s bikes. Currently have 3 big-bore CR’s sitting here. Those newer Chinese bikes are taking over. Nobody can touch their price point.
I don’t really have social media anymore, so I troll craigslist all the time looking for a cheap dirt bike.
When I’m on travel, or vacations, I also troll local CL adds hoping to come across a sweet Buy here and drive home kind of deal.
My bucket list has an item for buying a nice California car or truck and driving it home. Ideally via R66. Everything I like is too expensive. Mostly because I’m old and remember what things cost 15 years ago.
As for current motor vehicle activities. I’m trying to get a title for my 1975 KZ400 that was given to me ~17 years ago.
Owner lost the title back when he lived in PA. I’m doubt NY will give me a new title with only a bill of sale, so I might be stuck dealing with PA by mail.
Now that both kids are old enough, I can probably get them to do some work and my son is a welder, so he does a way better job than I would. Might be more fun than the breakout with some effort.
Good luck, facebook marketplace is where it’s at. Very few people using craigslist anymore. I don’t bother listing there because all it ever generates is bot spam, vs facebook marketplace I can see all kinds of info about a buyer/seller to see if they’re legit or not.
I borrow my wife or daughters phones once in a while.
I do wish my daughter would stop showing me Fieros and Lebarons. Nobody wants maroon on maroon 80s Chrysler convertibles.
The best place to pick up an old dirt bike is marketplace, and Vintage Days in Ohio. We’ve been going there for a few years now. It’s like marketplace in person. Literally 2000+ used bikes. The swap meet area takes up the same amount of space as Cars and Coffee. You can haggle in person. I bought a CR 480 there last year plus a cone pipe and silencer. For $2000 you can have your choice of hundreds of bikes. The 17J bike in back is the one I bought at Vintage Days. The one in front is one I bought in Detroit for $2400, and restored last spring/summer. I sold it for $5000.
