LOL, I’m not negative. Just giving you scenario based on my experience from running events in WNY for over 20 years.
I’d love to see it happen, but there are a lot of things against events in this area. I pick and choose my battles for the events that I run. Plus you’re going to get that other group that comes in that cause problems, and you have to deal with it.
Solving problems is what I do
 Guess I stated that point…
Same!!
They posted this on FB
Nice! I can see my truck.
I can’t find my car… j/k
Nobody even has to zoom in to find that thing. Add it to the list of objects seem from space.
I want to reassure everyone that Cars and Coffee Buffalo is still going to happen, however some concerns need to be addressed and some things need to change moving forward. I am confident all changes will be for the betterment of the event, and I hope everyone understands why these changes need to happen. I am finalizing the new location this week, and some loose ends with insurance/permits/security are getting tied up shortly as well.
Is the next one going to be May 15th? (assuming all the loose ends are tied up by then)
Sounds promising
Is this on for next Sunday?
To all, I wrote up a fairly lengthy post on the Cars and Coffee page, feel free to read it as your discretion. The long and short of it: We have several locations that are offering to host us, however to do so we need to have insurance, permits, security, and pay a usage fee. These total in excess of $1500 per event. We operate on a zero cost and zero profit system right now, and this obviously won’t work with the new circumstances. Since this is a community event, rather than me deciding that the community should pay to attend, or if there should be commercial sponsors, etc I will open it up to a community decision. We are not meeting this month, and instead will finalize a plan for our future home. If the community wishes to continue this event, then we will have to come together as a community to decide.
There are plenty of people that will not wish to contribute their effort or time, and that is fine. There are plenty of cruise nights and car shows every night of the week that require nothing of you.
For those that understand what this event is, and wish to see it continue I have no doubt Will be able to assist and ensure that this happens.
Your thoughts are appreciated.
I’ve sent you a PM.
Seems like finding a local car dealer and maybe a couple local businesses to sponsor would be your best bet. Between the spectators and participants it’s a good amount of people to pitch it as an advertising opportunity. Just doing a quick search for “cars and coffee sponsors” it’s obvious a lot of other cities cars and coffee meets are paying for their events that way. As I’d expect most of the sponsors are automotive related (car dealers, detailers, stereo shops etc).
The key here is the event has to be properly managed if you expect any business to want to be associated with it. No business wants to advertise at an event where attendees are stealing from stores, tearing up lawns and being told to leave by the police. It sounds like you’ve taken the time to reassess how the events are run based on the greatly increasing popularity which is good because I doubt you’ll get many 2nd chances in a community as small as WNY.
not a bad idea - a lot of dealers have been bringing cars to display anyway, I’m sure they’d at least listen.
I wouldn’t have a problem paying an entry fee.
Charge entry which will cover all fees then donate all profits to a charity each month.
