Matt has an in, that’s for sure. I remember seeing him last summer at an exclusive invitation only event. He runs in the right groups to make C&C a success. Unfortunately, you can’t guard against all the bullshit that comes with it being open to the public. It is just the nature of the beast.
Hilarious to me that 716 racing is going to try to host this. I can’t imagine it stays under control for long.
Also, this is going to be at the same location? How is that going to fly? Sounds like this might just be a bunch of people showing up in a parking lot without the proper involvement/ permission.
I don’t have a problem who is running it, I just hope it gets ran correctly and I hope that its not stepping on Matt and the frame work Matt laid down.
This should be interesting, I will probably check it out and see how it goes. Planning on also swinging by the caffeine & octane this sat as well. Little more confident with the organization of that show.
I’d like to see this succeed but I’m not holding my breath…unless Matt made it sound way more complicated than it needs to be, these kids seem too young/inexperienced to be able to just “keep it going” just like that.
Matt @Mr_New_York did pretty well just jumping into it. These guys could too. If they have permission (assuming the mall actually did their due diligence) to advertise an event on private property then they’ve already made solid progress.
My only issue is that if exotic cars are not going to show up to a C&C branded event I’m not going to bother. It’ll just be another cruise night… errr… cruise morning.
Two things that’ll bring me out:
Exotic cars that I wouldn’t typically see.
NYSpeed members showing up and telling me it’s cool.
I can see the majority of this stuff anywhere. I go for the exotics because I may see them on the streets, but this allows me to examine them up close which I would normally not have the opportunity to do.
I’ve been watching this unfold, and have received quite a few messages-first and foremost I am in no way affiliated with this new event. When mine ended, the door was left open and this was a possibility. While I do think a different name could have been chosen if they planned to keep it there, or vice versa this very similar name in a new location- it is what is, I can’t control it.
I don’t think complicated is the right word, nothing I did was intricate or non-repeatable; the hard part is that it just takes a lot of effort, there is no monetary or other reward for the organizer, and you accept a boatload of liability. I put it on as long as I could, and wanted to end things on a positive note before something happened following the growing trend of reckless behavior. My only words of advice to the two younger guys running it, get an LLC started ASAP and distance yourself from the liability as much as you can. Secondly, you can’t make everyone happy- be prepared to piss some people off, no decision will make everyone happy. Hopefully they have a solid plan in place, and the Buffalo car community can keep this one going in a positive direction.
I hope it’s successful. If the new guys don’t lay down the law right away with regards to what they let in and how people behave when leaving it will get out of control fast.
We would like to invite you all to WNY Cars & Coffee at the Eastern Hills Mall. We will be having the event in the parking lot in front of where Sears use to be next to Duff’s. The event will be held from 9am-12pm the 3rd Sunday of every month, the last one being in September.
We will be having a Coffee Vendor and a few other vendors including Executive Wraps
A few observations:
Easter Hills doesn’t list this anywhere
Neither does Duff’s
Searching for “WNY Cars & Coffee” takes you to “Cars & Coffee Buffalo”
Looks like you can only find info on FB
They have an IG account, but only two posts
This Tweet implies some continuity between @Mr_New_York and the new dudes… which is inaccurate:
This is pretty much going to be an upper-middle class kid’s Southtown/Mighty Meet. Bunch of parent-bought/finance cars and eventually doing stupid shit. I guarantee it.
