Cars & Coffee @ Eastern Hills Mall (NOT run by Matt)

I might make it in the nova.

bump for tomorrow

Not going to make it. One car at paint and one car at chassis fab. Both should be out next weekend

Decent amount of NYSpeed people

Even though that orange is terrible, the C6 vette sounded good leaving.

Thank you to everyone that came out to the event this morning. I tried to talk to all the NYspeed members that I recognized.

I thought you were above cheap shots at his hair color.

X…

Weak

Well played

How’s the sunburn?
I’m still surprised by how clean your vette is.

I couldn’t make it, looks like a great turnout!

These are good events for me these days. A nice enough drive there and back, but still leaves enough of the day to get plenty of other things done. Getting older…it’s tough…

Hmm, I’d be interested in going to this sometime, but it does look like a “here’s a thing I paid for” type of event.

Please come troll people

Most of the people I’ve spoke with there don’t carry this mentality. I’ve had more people interested in my Fox Mustang and what I’ve done with the car than any other I-built-it-meets I’ve frequented. Also, this is a prefect venue to get up and close with a lot of cars that you just don’t see everyday…old school Porsche, Ferrari, the ocassional Lambo, Pantera, etc.

I got stuck moving furniture Sunday morning and was quite bummed I couldn’t make it in time. Oh well, I can always hope I’ll make the next one. I added the address to the 1st post and will update the date when it’s known.

As opposed to what? Not everyone has the ability to build their cars. There are plenty of people there that just like cars and sharing the enthusiasm…

@cougarspeed had a few people asking dumb questions about his car but most of the people are decent

Giving him crap about not having a cage/harness bar

I’m not saying it’s a bad thing, I will just never understand how people can get excited about something that they can’t take any credit for. I guess it’s the same reason I don’t like sports, if that makes any sense.

I’m two sided on this.

For example, i’ve always wanted a low mileage bone stock e30 M3. I would take a TON of pride in knowing that saving and hard work earned me that car, and as a car guy I would get excited to show it off and be around likeminded people, even if the car carries no additional merit from a custom one-off build perspective.

At the same time, I completely get what you mean.

Doesn’t really make sense. Not everyone is a machinist/craftsman/builder guy that has the tools and knowledge. What’s so wrong with admiring the work of those who have created some cool shit?
