Cash for Clunkers

I know most of us on here know about it, but I figured I’d help a little bit of the confusion. Some people say it doesn’t matter the MPG of the new vehicle you trade in for, and what you’ll be trading it, others say it does. Here’s an image chart taken directly from www.clunkercashbill.com .

So much for me trading in my Subaru for a Dodge 3500…

so is the bill passed? i know my parents are waiting to trade there pathfinder in on something new.

i wonder if i qualify, i bought a new car last week and my old truck got shit gas mileage

^^ probably.

aww its kinda crappy you have to trade a car for a car.

How does the $3500 voucher work. Does it come off the price of your new car immediately or do you get like a refund check in the mail

www.CARS.gov

Car must be 25 years old or newer
Car must qualify via gas mileage chart above according to www.FuelEconomy.gov
Car is discounted off of MSRP at time of purchase, you do not have to wait for a check
Car must be registered and insured in your name for past 1+ year to qualify

There are some basic guidelines, rest of rules are available at www.CARS.gov

goldstein told me i couldn’t get the voucher and basically hung up on me. i still need to do a little more research on this.

I went backwards. I went from a car that got 32 mpg to a truck that gets 15 mpg. Help me Obama.
