yes I have worn both and I can say with certainty that hockey pads do not protect you like football pads

football uses shouler pads, helmet, him and a pad on the front of your leg.
hockey has helmet, shoulder, elbow, gloves, pants, and shin pads.
good hockey equiptment is ALOT more protective than football. do you just think so because it is smaller?

knee,thigh pads on the legs, girdle with 2 huge hip pads and tailbone gaurd, rib gaurd, shoulder pads with integraded neck brace, Helmet, some wear shin gaurds under their socks too
Hockey has the same stuff but thinner and gettin hit into boards and on to ice takes a lot more out of you.
