Im debating on buying either a 06-07 600RR or a R6 this week.
For the the bike Gurus out there, what are the cons/pros
I havent heard to much on them.

What are you going to do with the bike?

+1… 07 600rr is supposed to be the hottness as it was revised
06 the r6 was revised… both are great bikes and the 06 cbr was not…
i’ve yet to ride the r6… but i have ridden the 05 600rr… it was a good bike…
if your tracking it, and its between the 06 models, id vote r6… if your debating 07 models, id vote for the 600rr… i’ve never been a yamaha guy to be honest… they have been ahead in the styling departments as far as im concerned since 1999… the 03-05 r6’s, well ill just say i wasnt a fan of the headlights even though they were projectors… the 600rr has been a great looking and performing machine since it came out, and works well as a track weapon, and stunter… neither bike are comfy for long trips… both will be equally quick to the point where even a novice will not be able to tell much of a difference if any…any reason you ruled out the kawi, triumph, or suzuki? j/w
be more specific
If you’re getting the 06 or above, get the R6, hands friggin down. It had major revisions that out beat every other cycle in it’s class (as performed by Cycle World). I originally was going for the 06 R6 when I got my R1. For older models, I’ve heard nothing but the greatest for the cbr’s.
thanks for all your input. im gonna go late this week and test drive a 06 r6 and a 07 600rr

:word:
my past 2 bikes were yamaha (r6’s) and last year I got an 06 636. i love it. faster, handles better (different. shorter wheelbase), brakes better. (not that anyone on this board save subjd40 could ride the bike to its potential). but they are great bikes. i wasn’t a fan of suzuki in the past as they were too big/wide for me (I’m 5’10" ~170 lbs) but their redesign (last year or 2 years ago) is great.
im a big fan of my 636. def faster than the 600’s i’ve ridden.

Comparing the handling and speed of your older 1999 or whatever R6 and whatever other bikes to your 06 636 isn’t exactly a fair comparison. :meh:

i rode korys alot and mine…i personally like the handling of the r6 better
but a gsxr 600 or 750 rides nice too

truth. i was just trying to say the kawi is a nice bike, and this is coming from a yamaha guy

i typically buy what i like the way it looks and performs… and frankly they all are within reach of each other with a capable rider, so pick the one that you like most aesthetically… i have owned 3 kawis and a honda… next will most likely be a suzuki… i’ve ridden many yamahas, and i have nothing against them… the first bike i wanted was an r6… just at the time a zx-6r came into my hands for a good price…
oh well… im not upset with my decisions
let us know what you decide… j/w what have u ridden before aside from the sweet derbi?
Whichever one you think is the most comfortable and best looking.
Anyone who tells you anything else is a full of shit magazine racer (no offense to those that have already posed).
I heard the 600rr is a little bit harder of a ride on the ass, so I guess I’d choose whichever feels better to you.
