Cell phone ticket

Got one today and im curious if this would effect my insurance at all.
It is a zero point ticket (just a fine) so it should not right?

Pretty sure any moving traffic violation, regardless of points, affects insurance.

That sucks. I booked a trial. Guess my best hopes are that I can get it dropped to a non moving violation.

If you don’t tell ur insurance company, then it won’t affect ur insurance.

I’ve always been under the impression that you only have to tell them of criminal and demerit point tickets. But don’t take my word on it, ask an insurance broker ur not affiliated with.

not telling them constitutes insurance fraud. When you find out let us know. Costly lesson to learn.

let us know? are u a broker? if so hook me up

it’ll be in the system regardless, good luck and hope you can get it thrown out or something… GET A BLUETOOTH! lol…

haha thanks guys. Shitty thing is I have a bluetooth in both my cars.
I was in my gfs Envoy this time (N).

I would not hide this from insurance. That can land you with a cancelled policy which is much worse in terms of future insurance costs.
They would find out regardless when they run a driver abstract. I ran quotes today with the new ticket and it does not effect me much at all. Ide still like to get it reduced to a non moving violation though.

wanna know what i hate, by law, while on duty, police are allowed to use their cell phone. even if that means while they are driving. a friend of mine is taking police foundations and told me so. i said i had seen officers talking on a cell while driving. he says its legal. i dont fuckin get it. who are they talking to? other cops? isn’t that what the radio strapped 4 inches from their face is for?

^ Yes they are exempt from the hands free law, as well as all other emergency vehicles. It’s horse shit because there are those that take advantage of it, but their logic is that their comms are important.

FYI CB radios fall under the hands free law, and while plow trucks and school busses have a year or two differal to come up with a new solution, you can be ticketed for using a CB radio as well. (Sucks to be truckers)

And yes, hiding it is stupid. I’ve had an accident that I didn’t claim because it was a no fault, show up at my next policy renewal. They’ll find it, and fuck you for it.

There is no sense in hiding tickets. Every insurance company runs a driver abstract when they ask for your license number. They see everything you have done.

theres was around being busted with a cb. i got pulled once for using mine and because i turned it off as i was pulling over they didnt really have proof of it being used, so he let me off
