RB26 :bowdown

i was thinking more s50, s52, 2jz, 1jz, jeep 4.0L…but i suppose the rb26 can squeak in there too.

S70/2 is the end all of factory released NA performance street engines IMO, especially if equipped with the GT option(Lemans spec cams/exhaust/tune…good for ~+65hp).

Porsche boxer > Ferrari boxer > Subaru boxer six > Subaru boxer four in that order. I’m sure there’s a place for Lycoming in there before Subaru too but we’ll stick to terra-bound motors :lol Porsche has had way too much time on their hands developing the flat six over the past 1/2 century or so. The Subaru six’s(EG33/EZ30/30r/tribeca 3.6) are actually very well designed motors and don’t suffer the same oiling issues as the fours due to different internal oiling flow paths. And the EZ series being chain cam driven instead of belt driven bumps the maintenance level up to the like of the Porsche cases.

Hell yeah :mwahaha. But who can afford a McLaren F1. :sad

How come no updates here? I keep hearing info trickle in but no updates on here or unysoc.org. What’s the story? Dyno tuned, LVD runned. Come on, fess up.\

Running good, just ran out of turbo with these cams inplace(GSC S1’s) 20g too small. Blowing nothing but hot air above 1.5bar on this setup here. Going big spool now. Be back for updates in a week or so.

Do you have Dom’s # handy Byron??? Need to contact him about Ricks car quick…

when i was at the track rental he ran against my buddy’s gti… i saw the slip, but not my business to say what it ran. there were 2 or 3 blue 06 sti’s there though. one guy ran low 12’s around 112-114, he had a bigger turbo too.

Is this thing up for sale yet?

:lol

Yeah, when he went ahead and bought the 20g for this project he never did the math for what he was going to run WITH the cams. I did just that after hearing about those runs and got back to him that on his setup anything over 22lbs the 20g was over the choke threshold and spinning it’s way to the stars. My math rough estimates over 300 charge temp coming out of that compressor at his boost levels(before meth injection and IC)…needless to say that conservative tune and meth injection saved his ass from detonation.

I so badly want him to run a damn charge temp gauge on this thing, even if just for tuning. these Suby’s are so susceptible to detonation it’s silly and being able to monitor/log charge temp during tune is a major plus.

New big turbo will be here tomorrow. I’ll leave it to Justin to spill the beans on it. It’s big.

is it still a suby flange, or a T2/T31 flange?

Still a suby flange. Screw it I’m spoiling Justins fun :tong

It’s a Blouch Dominator 4.0R

blouch makes some weird hybrids. theres a guy over seas on VW vortex using a blouch 3.0R on his 1.8t.

yeah some claim the 4.0R is a 62lb comp but in reality it a 3282R hybrid. Supposed to spool pretty nice on the 2.5L Never used one myself. Still single volute 3 bolt suby flange, just CNC ported and matched(at least it will be when I’m done with it)

58lb/min…a little more than the FP HTA Green… not bad. should work out well.

if it puts out 62lb/min of airflow its right under the FP Red… little pricier too.

Yeah this snail should suit the car better. I’m all for big but responsive snails that let you run cooler, lower pressure air charges for your power goals. It’s going to pick up some lag compared to the 20g but the car should still run much better overall.
