Ceramic coating in a can??

when i was at K&S last month i saw this spray, i dont remember the name of it but it was a can with flames on it and it said it protects heat up to 2000 degrees. i was wondering is this any good?

or is it that it just wonr crack/burn up untill 2000

actually come to think of it i think it was VHT

no. it will flake off.

it wont flake off if you apply it properly on a properly prepped surface and then you prebake it right like it says

i had the stuff ona manifold and it was insane how much it stuck, but my headers started to tarnish through the paint almost spotted

oh and its just paint, it doesnt trap the heat or anything

.

when used with header wrap i think it helps

any coating, including paint, alters a materials specific heat holding capacity

that wouldn’t be ceramic if it was in a can.

barely…
