Ceramic Pads

I am not a big fan of the Friction Master Ceramic Brake pads sold at Advance Auto Parts. I bought them back at the end of March of this year and they went defective. They are installed on a 2002 Grand Prix. The ceramic pads are supposed to have less brake dust and are more “wheel friendly”. The first set of ceramic pads I had on my Intrepid lasted much longer and caused no problems. The sales guy at Advance said that ceramics actually wear 40% FASTER than standard semi-metallic pads.

Anyways, when the ceramics fail, they crack and cause massive amounts of (black) brake dust. Cracked pads are good for a full refund at most auto parts stored.

hmmm interesting
i like them on my truck esp when i am towing the brakes seem to work great when they are hot
