Changing cell phone screen, help.

Well my gf and my old room mate both broke their chocolate screens a while ago, one vx8500 and a 8550. I have gotten pretty far with the 8550 (I didnt even break anything)

I had it all back together but the screen displayed upside down and backwards.

how the hell does this happen?

Are the part numbers exactly the same on the old screen/new screen?

ribbon cable? i know stupid shit like this happens on PSPs when the ribbon cable gets a little scratch or anything like that.
