well, all i can say is that this car was a mess. i NEVER thought white paint could look so bad :jawdrop:! it took me 2.5 hours of claybaring to get the car where i wanted it before polishing. came out phenomenal in the end after 6 hours of my magic
The car came out good! What were the spots in the before pics? The gf’s car also has them all over. What took them out? This is going to be a task im not looking forward to taking care of.
Yea they do look like rust spots and i will agree they are a pain to get off. Ill have to pick up some clay bar and go to town the next nice day. The spots are starting to bug me.
its called rail dust… when the cars get put on the trains during there transportion process, the dust from the rails stick into the paint(hence the poly sideskirts havin rust on it…), and after purchase of the vehicle over time they cause rust in those little spots because the rail dust rusts… claybar is the best way to go at them for removal…
Rail dust, enviromental contaminants, fallout…small pieces of metal that will embed itself in the paint and the particle will then rust…
Mine looked similar after the winter, and it took just as long with the claying…I used 2 clay magic blue kits but one would have really done the job fine. UGH what a job… hopefully with a few good coats of wax now it will not build up so bad.
It does also come from the brakes, its even worse if you do live close to train tracks, also if you dont want to destroy a clay bar or spend 2+hrs next time, fall out remover or wheel acid work just as good and takes about 10 min lol. But reguardless one hell of a job!
