Chop my windscreen??? Update: Chopped

What do i do. I am a taller guy and my oem windscreen on my 01 gsxr is really getting annoying. I can see half the tach in my normal riding position, and I constantly leave the blinker on b/c I cannot see the flashing light…lol

So…

Do i spend the $80+ on an aftermarket double bubble

Or…

cut my windscreen and try to do a decent job while also looking like a stunterzzdbaggg.

aftermarket

If only licence plates had room for 15 characters.

plan on buying aftermarket but b4 you buy it try to chop yours if it turns out good keep it on and if not then just buy aftermarket

zero gravity is typically a poor windscreen… puig, ffabri, arre better choices

try cutting it first… if you fuck up , then buy one

thanks willy

Thats what I was thinking.

Does anyone have experience cutting plastic? I have a few ideas but suggestions always help

dremal

I heard that gets a bit shaky…i was thinking about using one of the band saws in our schools woodworking shop. Masking tape where i want the cuts…draw it out, and cut. Then afterwards put a strip of something around the rough edge and adhere it with some sort of glue.

take a small circler grinder or air saw and cut it… then just get some of that chrome crap that people put on there car door edges, and put in on the edge you cut so it looks professional… id go with black thou

word…i remembered the orange 636 for sale a while back. I want to do something like this…

remember… function over form in this case.

not that short also…just enough to see my entire display

yeah thats kinda what i ment

puig double bubble. cut screens hurt resale haaaaardcore. buyers don’t want a bike that they think was stunted.

understandable, and that is one of my main reasons for wanting to buy one. However, either way it will come down to me buying one, i might as well cut this one up now and save a few bucks, then buy a double bubble further down the road.

puig standard? Or is there a puig double bubble?

I ran a puig double bubble on my R1. Best investment ever. I cut the screen on my f4i, now I run an acerbis front light. But I dont mind looking like a stunterzzdbaggg:2fingers:

puig racing screen, and it shows a pic

double bubble will give you more viewing room of your gauges. i had one on my 600rr and loved it. mine was f.fabri, fitment was flawless.
