Chris's 05 LGT

Today we got a chance to finish up Chris’s 05 lgt tune. This car came to us with a tune already done by someone else and we did not think we would be able to make much more power, Guess we were wrong. After changing EVERYTHING in the old tune and turning up the boost 1.5lbs, this is what we ended up with.

So you turned up the boost and made more power then the other tune? go figure

Obviously we have to take your word what the boost was previously and how much you actually turned it up…

How heat soaked was this when you ran it the first time

You added boost and made more power

More boost equals more power…what a novel idea!..

Exactly what my reaction was.

Whats done to it?

You’ve just shown what a stage 2 Subaru does when the stock top mount intercooler and manifold are hot on one pull and not the next, plus extra torque in the low/mid range from running more boost. One is jagged with lower power and the other is smooth with higher power. When I’m doing rough tuning and don’t leave a lot of time between pulls I see the same thing. The dead giveaway that the car was fiery hot on the baseline pull is how much better spoolup is because the turbo and everything are so hot. Then up top the power is similar because you can’t force it to run more boost at higher RPMs than on the baseline pull on the stock turbo…you just heat soaked it so the graph looks jagged.

I am going to enjoy this lollercoaster…

what was the exact boost difference between the 2 pulls? def. not 1.5psi

Lol. I’m sure this “shot” seemed like a good idea at the time :headbang:

just when i thought today was going to be boring…

This thread is being watched, and even with this knowledge I bet a few of you are dumb enough to acquire infractions for an auto ban.

I have a car in the garage that will argue that point

9HP? Seems like the difference between two dyno runs if you ask me

This car was baselined first thing in the morning by me before anyone else was here. It had more than enough time to cool down between the time it drove in and the time I had it all set up and ready to make a pull. Notice the filter value…

Again there was nothing wrong with the tune, it came in fairly decent. o2’s were pretty good and it didn’t seem as though it knocked, but I wasn’t logging for this pull.

12:30?

Lunch time?

Yea I mean the times are clearly shown on the dyno chart…

That’s morning for us as we are here will into the night, every night…

So 12:30 is morning, yet the car had been sitting for hours? Nice of him to show up before you guys did.

What does that mean? Just trying to learn me something…

I believe it has to do with smoothing. Higher the value, the greater the smoothing effect on the curve.

not only that, look at the dates, before dyno done 9/25, after done 9/29
