I say that everyone just need to step back and have an open mind. Except the world for what it is and use what works for you.

With all due respect…did it ever occur to you that believing in religion or science is what works for those people? Meaning the morals, values, opinions, etc. that are tied to those ‘paths’?

Personally, the morals of a Christian work for me. Am I strict about everything? Absolutely not. There are Christians who don’t allow TV’s in their homes, no pants on females, no jewelry, no secular music, etc. Do I believe that way? Absolutely not. Does the Bible say, “Do not do this” (regarding those things)? No. It’s a matter of interpretation. I think a lot of people take the Bible out of context in many ways to fit their personal like’s and dislike’s. I personally am MUCH more open minded than the average member in my particular church. That’s what you call being ‘open minded’.

Everyone is different. What I believe happens to work for me. If flying through life by the seat of your pants (for the most part) works for you, great.

I guess the quote, “If you don’t live life on the edge, you’re taking up too much space” is fitting in that case.

I’ve come to one conclusion out of all of this, and has been narrowed down to being my only argument.

I understand that both sides have valid points, between religion and science, both being considered opposites and people have their reason for choosing what path to follow.

But that is what gets me. Neither side has the ability to say 100% FOR SURE, this is the way the world works. So why is then that people decide to follow one path with 100% dedication? Why is it that everyone picks a side, then argues it with arguments based out of mostly emotion and “facts” that can’t be proven?

It kills me to see people living their entire lives devoted to either religion or science, choosing lifestyles, arguments, morals, whole ways of life, based on something that has as many fallacies as it does facts.

Thank you Cpt. Obvious…Most of the people who have been speaking in the thread are open minded. We have ONE person who admittedly a christian yet we have a discussion going and not a complete shit show. Why does it bother you if somone devotes their life to something you SEE as a fallacy…your right nothing is proven but a lot of things also arent disproven…We have a collection of theories…You can choose to believe one or just not care and believe nothing. Its up to the individual to choose their lifestyle so who are you to judge their mindset. Maybe it ‘kills’ other people to watch you live your life devoted nothing…maybe it seems empty to them?
