anyone have it? i have a 1973 cutlass supreme and i want to get it, just dont know how and if there is any restrictions etc, my insurance company is retarded and i didnt understand what they were asking, thats why i ask if i can get it and where you guys go,thanks.
There are all sorts of restrictions. I had it on my Fiero.
No drivers under 25 (had to sign a notarized form basically stating if someone under 25 was driving I had no coverage)
My policy had a mileage limit, not all do
Had to be garage stored (they required pictures of the garage)
Had to have other registered vehicles for each person on the policy to show your classic wasn’t anyone’s daily driver (the required copies of the registrations)
It was worth the hassle though. I was paying $75 a year for full coverage agreed replacement value.

I applied online, had to send 2 pictures of my Camaro. I have it insured for $40k
No pictures of garage needed
They don’t track mileage. But if you get in an accident, you better be on your way to a car show, cruise, or parade. There is one every day of the week so you can actually be legit in saying so
well im a little screwed then haha, im 18 and im going to cruise it just for the rest of the summer, maybe ill just put it under my moms name or somthing. where did you go?
just applied there online, 209 a year?
At the time I had Alliance Insurance in Depew as my agent and they found the company. I can’t remember who they ended up setting it up with.
Really doesn’t matter because I don’t think any of the classic car places are going to accept an 18 year old driver. Putting it under your mom’s name and driving it as an 18 year old meant it was an uninsured vehicle under the policy I had. They were very clear about no drivers under 25.
for you as a driver on that car … 209 a year is fucking dumb cheep(if you can really get it)you would be dumb not to take it
if i didnt go on classic car, it would be somewhere around 350-375 a month, which is stupid i didnt pay that much for two cars, not sure why its so high.
b/c you are 18 and it is a “sports” car… i was paying 455/month with my 5.0 when i was 18
base model cutlass? not a sports car haha, for my integra and my dsm together i was paying like 110 or somthing a month.
Not sure on the age part of it. I’m 35, so its not an issue for me.
I had my Camaro under my parents insurance when I was younger, I think up to age 21 or 23 for liability and coverage reasons.
I can’t imagine paying that much a month for insurance. I’m down to $50/month for both me and my wife, 2 cars, full coverage (Auto insurance in VT is stupid cheap). I may go classic when the MR2 is fixed and back on the road as I will very rarely be driving it.
sounds exactly like grundy’s
I use Hagerty. I think i pay 170 or 180 a year with agreed payout of 28k. I declined the road service that is normally attached to the policy i think it saved $35.00 a year
ok my insurance company said that i can insure it classic if im using it only for car shows and driving it places to get work done, now say i do that and then i happen to get pulled over, then what?
Go with Hagerty. I have my 280z insured under them and I’m under 25. Just gotta fill out the form and send it along with a bunch of pictures. I pay just under $200 a year.
i just filled the form out online, ill see what happens with that.
just say you’re going to the nightly carshow at southgate
Hagerty allows for car shows, cruises, and occasional use. there is nothing about how many miles. Define occasional??
going to work everyday? i think thats occasional.
