Clever Construction Review

Had Alex ( @sobo ) out to get an estimate on having 6 windows in my house replaced and liked what he had to say. So long shitty old triple tracks, hello custom vinyl replacements.

They were scheduled to be installed 6/23 but I got a got a call that morning from Alex saying the wind had blown one of the windows over while they were loading the truck and cracked the glass. He was really upset about it, much more than I was, but quickly sourced a replacement glass section and arranged to have the windows installed the next day. Even knocked a little off for the inconvenience. Seriously stand up customer service.

Next day the install crew arrived as promised and on time. Another huge  because having contractors show up on time seems to be a rarity.

The install went great, the crew cleaned everything up and took all the old window stuff with them. Couldn’t be happier.

Here’s a picture I took of one of the windows once the outside was trimmed out. You can see an in progress picture of another window in the background.

I would definitely recommend Clever to anyone on here. He gives NYSpeeders a great deal and the work is top notch.

 Great group of guys.

I plan to have them back, hopefully around bonus time in September to replace the last original windows I have left. At least now all the ones we use regularly and the prevailing wind side ones are done. The ones that are left aren’t in nearly as bad a shape but I still want them replaced.

 I have something like 26 windows and two french doors to do in my current house. I am about 99.99% sure that he will be getting the job. I just need to get on it.

They have done almost every window and door in my house…meaning I need to have them come back.

have done only great work for me as well

Anything other than windows and doors? If they do trim work for windows, can other trim work be done?

Not sure. I just know they don’t do skylights because I asked for a friend who needs one replaced.

What a difference, wow. I’m 2-3 years from doing my windows but do need 2 screen doors installed this summer. I’ll have to reach out, I don’t have the time this summer to swap doors.

I need one of those replaced desperately as well!

Jay thank you for the kind words! You were an absolute pleasure to do business with. I appreciate the flexibility you gave me during our little mistake this week. I am happy you like the windows!

If you have anything else you need done, I’d be happy to give you a hand.

When you are ready I would love to give you a quote. I am confident that I can give you the best bang for your buck, and I can get the job done promptly. With proper scheduling I could do that entire job in one day.

Luke! I miss you buddy. Lets meet up soon.

We can do trim work while on the job, however we try not to make special trips to do flashing/trim work unless the season is slow (IE: Black friday-April). Trimwork is the bottleneck of the operation, so we start bending our trim when we start pulling the old windows out normally. Otherwise, we end up with 3 or 4 guys sitting around. Let me know what you have though, at the very least I can get you set up with a very qualified guy for the job.

Skylights… Ugh. They are best serviced by a roofing contractor. I used to be in that game but I learned early on to stick to what our specialty is. I can absolutely set you up with the best roofer in the area, Bob from Davids Exteriors in Cheektowaga. We’ve had him retrofit a few skylights into my parents house with great results.

Thanks for the kind words guys! You’re like my family and I’m happy I was able to help.

Yes, Clever is the way to go - 28 windows and 2 doors!!!

Should be contacting Alex in the future for a couple more entrance doors to be installed.

noted. How do I get an estimate on two doors, two windows and 4 glass block in the basement?

716 9five7-zero3seven7 if you wanna txt me to set something up

had 5 Windows done by Alex a while back ago. No complaints at all, and I will be contacting before the snow to get some much needed replacements put in. Need some doors put in as well.

I would like to know if they can do basement glass block as well. I have 5-6 to do.

I’d suggest calling or txting him. His number is in his sig. I know he’s really busy and not sure how much he’s watching this random thread looking for quote requests.

I would try using Alex first, but if he doesn’t do glass block windows, I used the Glass Block Guys in South Buffalo. They even allowed me to do a cash and carry on a couple replacements that were easy to pop in.

^ +1. If you have a standard size (34" x 16 - if I recall correctly)…Home Depot has a built in already made. It’s a nice piece for the money. Then just concrete it in place.

Unfortunately, we do not do glass block.

We do however, do basement “hopper” style windows.
