Club project...can this be done?

the first really cheap gtr i find in japan i’ll be buying…

will be a parts car. anyways engine = project for me.

anyways right now it wont be thought of cause a second gtr is on the way and i am dropping 2k on the firsts engine right now.

My guy in Japan is itching to send me a container full of clips and things but I need more people to order at the same time to make it worth while.

So, I can get lots of parts and platforms for a project car.

i really like this idea. and i think its more realistic then the midship rb26.

a set up like this would be killer fast.

Totally!

but only in a straight line.

Yeah…but imagine the look on the guy with the viper’s face when he’s bus lengths behind you!

I disagree.

Isn’t putting an engine where one normally doesn’t go about the same amount of hassle regardless of where one puts it? In essence, isn’t putting an engine in the back of a car or the middle of a car about the same technological nightmare if an engine was never meant to go there?

If so, how is putting one in the back of the car, where an engine was not meant to be, and getting it to work with the one already in the front “more realistic” than putting one engine mid ship where it wasn’t mean to be?

I think both installations can be done (see Sport Compact Car Magazine and the twin-engine Hyundai) but I consider a single engine car to be more realistic than a twin engine car.

Then what the heck do I know.

lets just put a 350 into a silva…we want to stand out right?

but we also have to have camaro racing stripe down it…!

it would make the club stand out at a meet…and it would be the cheapest possible way really…maybe a 9 inch rear end as well and a jacked rear suspension/

Don’t forget the welded doors, roll cage, confederate flag on the roof, 01 on the side, and a trunk full of racism! :E

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Don’t forget about the mullets!

Don’t forget to bring an assload of fried chicken for the token evil fat guy. :E

ok so its a go…i’ll get the car.

How about louvers on the side and back windows too?? lol

If you guys really wanted to do something like this I’d say we stuff a VG30 into a FWD Stanza or something of the like. We can take the whole 300zx rear suspension, diff, etc.

How awesome would a 300+hp RWD Stanza be? :E

Re: my first post in this thread… :wall: I was asking a serious question about the specific technical challenges to building this project and how to address them. I was hoping that the people here with some experience and or knowledge could offer some constructive insight or suggested changes to my initial concept keeping true to the initial vision for the car.

Perhaps someone could start a thread on lame jokes about project cars and post those comments there. Have fun with it but it would be nice to get some constructive help here in this thread.

In the mean time, would it be possible to have an honest look at this project?

This car is a Chip Foose Thunderbird and I am not really a big fan but maybe if people were able to take this concept and imagine Silvia instead of Thunderbird it would help keep this thread on track. Then again, maybe I am just a crusty old bastard ruining your fun.

the rb26 in the mid would never exactly work without a custom tranny.

assuming we would be usign a rb25 transimssion then there is no possible way it would work…it in my mind would be much to long. the transmission looks like it could be from a semi.

anyways thats my insight. Would the engine sit right up behind the front seats?
it could possibly work but im just tryingto think. the drive shaft would either be non existent or like a few inches.

Ya, my thought was the engine would be mounted right up behind the front seats. And yes, it is damn long.

People might take the thread more seriously if it as fiscally possible.

Not sure I gave my financial details at the beginning of the thread. Do you know something about my bank account I don’t?
