allrighty im going to be changing my clutch this weekend on a 92 coupe.
got the clutch kit from varun, and now i need to know if i need to get a tranny gasket, baring kit
along with some special tools to do the job. so if you guys can help me out that would be great.
so pritty much my clutch peddle is soft and have to lift it with my foot a little and when i step on the gas it revs up ( not catching)so i gotta take it slow. also when i back it up theres some grinding nosies so could this just be a slave problem and how can i check it out to make sher??
try bleeding your slave cylinder on the transmission and you may get travel back in your clutch and possibly a leak in your line to the slave cylinder may become evident
You shouldn’t need any special tools other than some extensions to your sockets and maybe a wobble joint. I would pick up an OEM throw out bearing and pilot bushing. Also a good time to have your flywheel resurfaced and check the condition of your rear main seal. *If your pedal is not returning try rebleeding because you may have a leak. Even if your clutch is gone your pedal feel should be the same because the resistance is from the pressure plate and not the clutch itself.
could that just be y its just rev-ing up and not catching the clutch, because i have noticed some stains on my driveway and didn’t knw what the F it was.
thnx for the help, ill let u know if problem reoccurs, once i bleed the slave.
for changing your clutch you really dont need any specialty tools other than pilot bushing puller. your going to need sockets, extentions and a swivel. as for how to replace your clutch heres a good write up off of nico http://forums.nicoclub.com/replacing-the-clutch-on-your-240sx-t160195.html as for your pedal not returning all the way it could either a leak in your system or the little bushing on the pedal is all torn up not letting it return all the way. this is what im talking about http://forums.nicoclub.com/240sx-clutch-pedal-refurbished-tutorial-t393709.html. and when reversing is it a grind or a whine? because all manual cars have a whine when reversing because your revers gears a spur gears instead of helica gears
