Ok so in stop and go traffic my clutch goes in and never comes back up. I kept it going and used my foot to lift the clutch back up. It comes up stays up and works perfectly fine all the way home. So when i got home i checked the fluid looked for leaks but it nothing seemed wrong.
I was thinking maybe I pushed the clutch down to far and the cylinder in the slave got stuck. then i pulled it back with hydro suction. I don’t know though thats just a guess so any help would be great I’m worried about it happening again or possibly the sign of a problem to come.
btw clutch is fairly new and does not slip so i don’t think it has to do with the pressure plate but maybe…
I’ve been driving around this afternoon and I’m finding that the engagement point is moving lower and lower. Then once I lift the pedal with my foot from behind the engagement point comes back up to were it should be.
Does this mean I have leak some were in my system or would it be that the return spring on the pedal isn’t tight enough
I would check the pivot on the release bearing arm. Same happened to mine… found out the pivot ball was broken off. Try grabbing the arm coming out of the tranny and see if it has a lot of play in it… especially turning it.
CSC might be leaking as well… if you can… get the car on jack stands, take some parts cleaner or soap and water even and spray in on the CSC and then get someone to pump the clutch to see if theres bubbles if not do that up the soft line to the clutch dampener. If its no where there check the hard line for any damage then proceed to check CMC. If theres a leak in the hard line just delete the clutch dampener and run a hard line to the CSC. Any questions just pm me.
