for the last couple weeks my cluthc pedal has been frustratingly stupid.
the engagement point keeps changing on me.
first we bled the clutch out.
then we changed the throw-out bearing.
then the whole clutch and transmission.
then bled it again,
and today we bled it a third time.
basically the problem is this:
engagement point starts out normal, then every time i shift gears or as the car warms up ( i am not sure what is triggering it) the engagement point creeps up teh the top of the clutch until the clutch stay engaged and begins to slip,
so then i adjust the pedal back to normal.
the engagement point then begins to creep down to the bottom of the clutch until it cannot be engaged at all and i cant shift gears.
after i adjust the clutch again it continues in this pattern.
i have put maybe 550 km’s on my car in the past week and a half and the clutch has had to be adjusted over 15 times, and as often as 4 times in 3 times in a single day.
That happened to me before too. The enagement point was all the way at the bottom and i couldn’t even change gears, but after i drove it around a little, everything became normal again. The next day i checked my clutch fluid, it was almost empty so i added more in and it never happened again.
i had this happen to me too… what i had to do was replace the slave cylinder, add the new fluid then drain the air out of the lines… what u should do is take a look at the fluid line that runs off from your master cylinder and check it all the way down to the slave for leaks…(u might have to get under ur car to look at the slave cylinder)… if theres a leak find out what that part is and replace it…
Mine makes a SQUEEEK nose whenever I press it,
I bled the system and it’s definately coming from the slave cylinder area… do I need a new throw out bearing?
There is a nut, you losen it then you rotate the shaft that is connected to the master Cylinder.
It’s got a flat spot for a wrench but it’s super tiny, my 8mm didn’t even fit it so I had to adjust it with plyers…
I had a similar problem with mine. My issue was that my clutch was barely going back up after pressing it. Replaced the slave and it fixed all problems.
Your slave might be leaking, or there’s still air in the hydraulic line.
That stupid damper box makes bleeding extremely hard, and usually traps air. I ended up removing it and hooking up the line directly. Made clutch engagement feel much more direct.
