ok i had a new clutch put in my car about 1500 miles ago. [98 Z24]
since then the pedal feels weird once in a while. i have noticed a few
times that it doesnt hold well. like for ex. i would dump it in first
spin all the way thru it then shift and it wouldnt allow the tires to
spin that much and the motor still rev’d. like it was slipping badly. you could
smell the clutch. it only seems to not hold up when i shift under
spin at wot. its a hydra. clutch the clutch i bought was a GM one from
the dealer. is there anything that i can do to it, to make it hold
better. i know this isnt normal for a new clutch to be doing. it has felt weird since
the day i drove it home from the shop. whatelse is funny is it has a different catch
spot for every gear.
clutch, throwout bearing, slave cyl, pressure plate are all new pieces. and the
flywheel was resurfaced. and the tranny that is in the car has only 70k on it.
i went to do doughnuts lastnite in reverse and the damm car would pop out of
gear when i would high rev it. im assuming this is normal in reverse. it never pops
out in the forward gears.
