Ok so I bought a set of coilover last night, and I was wondering if my testing method for the shock part of the coilover is right.
When you depress the shock part of the coilover down should it rebound/rise/return to the very top of its stroke?
Or do some of them have to be pressed a little further down it’s stroke before it rises.
The rears rise to the top,but both fronts don’t.
Are they blown?
Any help/advice in this matter will be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks guys
Hey Dereke it should require your full weight to get it depressed and should rise to the top. Any amount it’s depressed it should return to the top.
It the rears are just going down with a yucky squish and not returning they sound dead. Are you seeing any oil around the shaft?
I can push the fronts down to the very bottom of their stroke and neither one of them rise.(took the spring off and pushed the shock(piston)down to the bottom and it didn’t rise)
When the rears are compressed/pushed down they return to the top of their stroke.
I had a feeling the fronts were blown but wanted a second, third even fourth opinion. Before going any further with anything.
Thanks for the help /advice Zac!
