Clattering suspension... Sil80

I have Cusco Zero-1 Pillowball coilovers on my vehicle.

When the wheel is turned, (dry-steering or moving slowly) you can hear spring like sounds and the steering has a “grainy” feel to it when the wheel is turning. The sounds I am describing are similar to what you would hear when a spring was being tensioned up and twisted.

Whenever I go over a tiny run or anything like that the suspension will make a rattling/clicking noise over bumps. This also happens on milds dips in the road as well. From what can be heard inside the car it happens on the left side of the vehicle.

When you push down on the exterior of the car you can push it down about 0.5" or so and it makes a small click/pop.

The ride is very hard but that is expected with coil overs. The handling is amazing and I don’t seem to be having any funny issues with that at all.

I talked to one mechanic about it that does alignment and he told me that this is normal. He called it coilover clatter.

Any opinions. I’m a novice at any kind of mechanical stuff. Maybe suggestions for some things that a novice like myself could check for easily.

preload your coilovers more, aka stop the droopy spring

I agree with Rob, sounds like the springs arnt seated properly.
