so today i changed the battery and sure enough the car started up, made my day with how easy it was. then i decided to meter it just to see…
~19volts coming into the battery and when you rev the engine it spikes up to like 22 or more, so my guess is a bad voltage regulator and the first battery got fried, im probably going to just replace the alternator, anyone have any thoughts on this?
My 14 yo bimmer is all good, baby.
my 08 wrx def sounds pretty weak when I tried starting it this morning, cranked a few extra times and the starter really sounded pretty weak…
Yeah. It’s just too damn cold.
le cackord refused to start last night, just got her going a couple min ago after a bit of convincing (lots of starter fluid and kicking)
truth, my car has started right up every time in the last few days of deadly cold. Getting it to warm up has been an issue though.
The BCM in my saturn acts weird about twice a winter.
The car won’t crank or start, it thinks someone is stealing it and the security light turns on.
After about 20 times taking the key out of it, it will start just fine.
Piece of shit.
cricket on broadway, baby
my 93 subaru starts every day without fail
+1 but 10 years old
I do have a brand new battery as of November. I can’t wait until this cold breaks, though.
No problems with the '93 MR2 as of yet, all is well…
But this weather, I seem to forget every year, just kicks the shit out of cars, man.
I’ll let go of the MR2 in the spring and likely just find an older EG to kick around for Dec.-Feb. It’s just not worth having a nice car you care about in those months in WNY. They age exponentially in those months, I swear.
Replace ignition switch, huge problem on these cars when cold.
