Colonie Center Shooting (accidental)

Yup. My kid will be poor and appreciate the fuck out of it!

There should be no reason for a retired cop taking his gun to the mall.

Should be no reason is correct.
But there is a reason. Until the world is perfect and crime rates drop to 0, people have a right to defend themselves at all times and places where legal.
Also, if a retired cop, who most likely has made arrests and has a reason to defend himself or feels unsafe, all people should take note.

CCW guys will typically carry on everywhere allowed (except schools and government buildings if I recall - well and theaters it seems) as a force of habit or just sticking to their policy - just like wearing a seatbelt, you just never know when you’ll need it.

With that said, as a gun owner the fucked up rule of our civilized nation is as follows - one person fucks up, punish everybody equally with one law. If we don’t want the gun rights to be limited any more than they are, we should stop giving guns to idiots…

Definitely a habit after all of those years on the force, but this guy was definitely trying on thong underpants while holding the gun in his hand.

What the hell does it matter if he’s a retired cop, or a twenty year old who just received his permit? A carry conceal permit is just that, and allows you to carry whenever you want and just about where ever you want(fed buildings and schools out). If he retained a proper unrestricted CC permit he had every legal right to do so.

The ignorance against this arena is astounding. People can question it but at the end of the day he was legal, whether it be him just plain exercising his legal ability to do so, or maybe he just came back from the range and stopped in quick to pick something up.

:Idiots

I didn’t say he broke any laws.

Mostly yes. A major problem is that SOOOOOOOOO many people who are PRO gun never get off the fat lazy asses to go vote down the bullshit restrictions and laws in most areas. They’re the first ones to bitch and complain when things are too tight, and the last fucking ones to get in line when it comes to actually taking a stand.

That doesn’t help when it seems these days that 95% of govt officials are hell bent on putting an end to civilian gun use and most of them have never picked up a firearm in their life. They make generalized laws and regulations that affect the whole and really don’t do dick in the long term, yet never focus on the ACTUAL problems associated with handing out permits.

The main problem is there is really no logical way to make it better. We are human and humans are flawed in ways that nobody can ever 100% define. You cannot give every a psyc exam, and even if you did then what? How can you without a doubt guarantee that information is going to do anyhting against FUTURE events that may happen in that persons life? You simply can’t.

i dont know many CCW guys that dont carry in the movies??

and the cop has every reason to bring his gun to the mall. he just shouldnt have shot himself lol.

the only places that i know of that generally people dont carry is federal buildings and schools. other than that carry on. private business or place have a no carry restriction? fuck em, theyll never know and if they fine out its because it was obviously needed.

when you CC it becomes part of your outfit or your setup. do you guys leave home without socks, shoes, or cell phones? same applys to people who CC - they dont leave home without it unless there going to court or something along those lines.

I know you didn’t, you stated there’s no reason for him to have taken his firearm to the mall when it really doesn’t matter IF he had a proper CC permit with no restrictions.

Let me put it to you in my perspective. Lets say I have an URCC permit and go to a range in syracuse with a friend. On the return trip we have to stop for fuel at a station, and we decide to grab some lunch at a local diner. In my mind, the only place your handgun belongs is either locked up in your gun safe at your home or on your persons at all times. Say I left my firearm in the glovebox and while eating lunch and some asshat jacks my car. Now he has much car and my gun. It puts me at risk, and now puts another illegal handgun into the market to be potentially used in a crime and ultimately hurt us(civilian gun owners) when lawmakers and the uneducated public eye come down on us. Instead i exercise my right to carry my firearm concealed on my persons where I know it’s secure.

If you cannot logically understand that, then you and I are on completely different wavelengths when it comes to proper gun ownership.

He did, by discharging a gun in public. (AFAIK)

Politicians will continue to try to ban all the guns they can because even one idiot firing off a gun by an accident in their state, their town, their mall etc is too many to have on their record and the public will demand an action to be taken.

If action towards gun accidents or shooting sprees didn’t affect their votes they would care less on the matter.

Like I said, blame the individual idiots, not the guns, not the laws. I’ve worked retail long enough to know how stupid the average person is towards the most mundane and logical things.

Personal safety is often not a factor in peoples minds, drunk driving, not wearing gear on the bike, not wearing your seat belt etc. However your personal safety with guns often does affect others.

I can only imagine the panic that occurred in the mall when they heard a gun shot go off and loud scream right after, considering how close this was to the Colorado shooting.

:Idiots

I’m surprised nobody filed a lawsuit yet for trauma or whatever else.

but its still wrong for politicians to do this. i shouldnt suffer because some idiot shot him self.

the problem is, everyone wants to sue, everyone wants a new law made when something happens. if people held people accountable for there own actions itd be much different. instead of media propaganda and politicians playing the stricter gun law shit, they should simple go after the ass hat who shot himself in the leg. arrest him and tell him you just lost your CCP and carry on with our lives. instead well hassle ALL gun owners.

We are on the same wavelength. :number1

your a retard and ruining an other thread with your stupid, assnine comments.

maybe you were one of the idiots that were interviewed after the guy shot himself?

Nobody is responsible for the own actions in America.

Slip and fall? Store fault no sign.

Burn yourself on coffee? Store fault too hot.

Kid is an idiot and doing bad in school? Add, ADHD, computer games, etc

Cancer from cigarettes? Tobacco comp fault.

Shoot up people? Video game and guns fault.

Fair or not fair, it’s how this society and business works. Ask silverandslow. Business is only there to make money. If one idiot sues over something stupid they will make sure it never happens again and forbid everyone else from doing it.

Running for office is essentially a business. You will do whatever it takes to get re-elected and keep your job, which means pleasing the majority.

Nobody is allowed to call anybody else an idiot and is afraid to do so.

i understand all of this, and thats why i said this is the problem…

i know how businesses work, i work for the railroad lol :lol. they are kings when it comes to lawsuits and bs.

if people werent fuck ups and we didnt have so much trash America would be a better place. Am I perfect? fuck no, but i hold myself acountable as do others in my life when i make poor decisions. if fuck ups didnt get away with shit the country wouldnt be the way it is.

:rofl

You should try retail.

All the stories from parts world alone are enough to write a book, where people expect everything to be done for them, and it’s your fault their car is broke and you’re not diagnosing it from behind the counter even though the describe the screeching noise it makes perfectly :rofl
