***Come play GTR2 ***

Ok folks, server has been working all week. We’re going to try out our first race online this weekend. What night/days are you available?

Post up here, we’ll figure out a time and date.

Make sure you register in the Lobby (Internet menu in the game). PM me for the server name and password.

Basically we’re going to get some seat time, work on setups, get used to things, maybe start thinking/planning on how we want to setup the league. Hopefully we can be racing for a championship by December

Awesome, I’m usually free after 6pm to play. I’m most defantintly down, I’m going to need a lot more seat time though, been mowing a lot of lawns with the lip.

What class cars do we plan on using?

I figured just for starters, since a lot of us are relatively new (me included), we’d go with the NGT cars to start off.

Just a quick note for when we play this weekend, we are using the original install of GTR2. Version 1.0.0.0

No mod cars/tracks just yet.

Is there a patch out for this game? I can’t seem to find it. Just wanted to check.

Yes, there is a patch available from the offical website. I’ve got it but haven’t installed it yet.

Saturday night would be better for me, too many things going on tonight.

I’ve got the demo and it actually plays pretty decent on my PC. with most of the detail turned down and at 800x600 I get about 40 FPS in car, not great but smooth enough. Anybody know if pirated copies will work for online play? I’m free pretty much any evening.

As far as I know, no. They have a serial number/code that must be entered for any sort of online play (LAN or Internet). I haven’t seen any key generators online, so pirated software means you are SOL.

For what the game costs ($19.99) there really is no good reason to pirate it, especially seeing the amount of time you will be using it and the mod community support. Well worth it, in my opinion.

I was looking around on there today, and I can’t find a damn thing on that site. Help a brotha out.

Where can you get gtr2 for 20 bucks?

Go pick it up :tspry:

Circuit city has two more in stock also, downloaded, tried it, liked bought it. Shocked as heck that it only cost $20.

Looks like I’m going to be doing a lot of practice.

Played tonight, AWESOME TIME!!!

Starting to get the hang of the setups, and I’ve figured out the Motec IPro software, so I have data acquisition for all my practice and qualifying sessions. What a tool. There is a map overlay that shows exactly where you brake, accelerate, coast, how much of the throttle you are using, where you are in the power band… the list goes on and on! I think GT4 will be collecting dust this winter.

Agreed, this game is pretty damn good. Didn’t find the overlay feature though I’ll have to look for that. Would definatly help me in learning to brake later.

My God, I have never seen a price of a quality game drop so quickly…what the hell? $50-$20 in 1 month…jeez.

I bought the GTR ledgends game a few months ago and its pretty slick. It’s basically the same game only with vintage race cars. My only beef is that my comp is getting a little old and I have no money to sink into upgrades :frowning:

Ok folks, it’s on and poppin’ again tonight!

Time: 9:30pm - whenever
Server: NYSpeed.com GTR-2 League

PM/call me for server password.

Got a couple guys from Cali and possibly one European guy (if he stays up reeeeally late) coming to play too.

We need to get our skills up so we can go out and beat all the other countries out there

Oh snap I better go grab that pizza ASAP. Warning though I’m pretty slow due to lack of “seat” time/skill.

You and everyone else. I just got the game Sunday. Most of the people playing just recently bought the game too. Just PM me for the password.

Ya know, it’s bad enough to have to deal with rain and drying conditions on auto-x weekends, and now we get to deal with it in simulation, too. Stupid virtual weather!

Seemed to run pretty well over the internet though, we had four people in three different locations all racing against each other. Or, more accurately, three people racing and one giving his pit crew a workout repairing car damage from crashes.

Last night was fun! Close racing, especially Magny Cours and Valencia. I really need my G25 to get here soon, the Microsof Sidewinder is holding me back
