Come read why I hate the USPS and add your own hate story.

I changed my address months ago and shit still gets sent to my old apartment. I got 6 letters at once from my student loans because they all went to my old apartment and then back to the post office then to me. the company my loan is through even has my current address so i dont know why they are being sent there. the people in the apartment must hate me.

See that is what I wanted and expected. I guess maybe Texas has slow rednecks doing it so maybe that is why mine sucked.

It really seems as of late that the USPS website blows, the works are genuine and try to help but they just can’t ever for some reason, most of my recent packages have had problems coming or going, etc. I used to like the fact that they have that mail center open 24/7 for packages, but it isn’t worth it to me anymore because something somehow always gets f-ed up. I really hope all government operations include road work, libraries, etc start getting ran through private industry.

meh, always liked usps. Priority mail is always cheapest and its great for international shipping.

I’d want to sit there and see all my info going into the passport envelope and I did while I got one…too important to have a screw up.

FUCK

Just today i received an e-mail from usps saying this

In response to your request dated 12/30/2009, we regret to inform you that we were unable to
locate any delivery information in our records regarding your item number xxxxxxx

I payed $4.XX to have this signature verified to make sure that they received it. Now I have no idea if they did receive the letter and I payed for a service I did not receive. Off to the post office I go

Haha, you said "back round "

:naughty:

I had a nice sized package shipped last month, it said fragile all over it. Well i recieved it two weeks ago, the box was wet and torn up they placed it in a bag with a sorry note.

We had to throw out half of what was in the box because it was damaged, and USPS ignored our claim.

Im not go after them because it really doesn’t matter now.

I had the opposite problem. When I sold a laptop on ebay and shipped it priority and it got damaged, the claim was handled smoothly and I got approved for my money the day I dropped the broken laptop off at the post office.
When I sold an iPhone and shipped UPS when they first came out, someone broke into the box and stole it, then they threw the empty box away. They still tried to deny my claim and say the phone was never in there. I had to go through two rounds of appeals before I won over something that obvious.

I’ve never had an address change go smoothly. I hate the period where you dont get mail at either address. I tried to avoid it with my last move, and just update my address with each company, then change my address with the post office. Until I realized my new address was listed as vacant, and wasn’t receiving any mail here either. You just cant win.

+2. I ship thousands of packages every year, 99% of them go USPS Priority Mail or first class. I’ve never lost one, only 1 or 2 damaged (probably my fault), and even the internationals all get to where they are supposed to. Once in a while something stupid happens, like a package comes back “no such address” when the address was correct, or something arrives late, but I can’t complain.

USPS has always done right by me. Its cheap, fast, closer to home, and they have never lost or damaged anything I’ve shipped or received from them. Their tracking is BS though, if I’m getting a package sent to me I prefer UPS simply for the better tracking.

I have never used fedex but I’ve seen and heard terrible things. There was a thread just like this one on another forum I’m on for fedex’s horror stories, it got lost in a crash though so I can’t link it.

+1 for the USPS for shipping.

Oh yeah fedex RULES…NOT!! This box was holding my pistons and my connecting rods. Each piston/rod assembly was bubble wrapped and then news papered separately. It did not end well for my parts. Also this box along with my block/crankshaft were merely placed outside in front of the garage door. UGH…

USPS lost two carbon fibre JIC strut bars that i shipped this year… one to Cali one to Hawaii on the same day…

fuck you USPS

A USPS cut me off the other day pulling RIGHT in front of me while going 40 mph, :fu:

But srsly, not any problems with them really… We do alot of mail forwarding here, and if you do it properly/black out the tracking bar codes, it always goes through fine.

Today the mail lady decided to just not deliver my package and instead leave a slip saying I wasn’t there to take it. Except my mother was there waiting for it and there wasn’t even a signature needed. It also should have fit in the mail box.

Oh and I can’t pick it up at the post office. WTF mate.

It’s like, “we have your package, but sorry you can’t have it.”

I’ve had this happen to me a couple times but replace mom with wife. :frowning:

Great story bump

I shipped out injectors on the tenth, paid for express shipping. they were getting sent to albany

Well the kid pm’s me today and said he looked up the tracking number, they got to rochester at the processing facility, and then got to albany. and then albany decides to send them BACK to rochester processing facility

if i have to pay for shipping again im going to punch someone at the post office

and another story-

In june i sold a wastegate to some guy in canada with a U.S shipping address. Well he went to go see if it came in about 3weeks after i sent it and wasnt there. The tracking number they gave me was invalid, and apparently they are too retarded to look up the receipt number that i gave them. They couldnt figure out how to find if i shipped an item from my house, to the address i gave them.

What the fuck is the point of a receipt number if you cant even look something up?

They also made me buy packaging tape (a whole entire new one) to put 1 piece of tape on, even tho they helped the lady in front of me for free with their tape behind the desk. i was really close to hurting someone

edit:
The guy with the wastegate messaged me about a month ago and said that he finally got it

UPS Store people are also a lot more friendly than people at the post office

My grandparents moved in January of 08, to a retirement comlex. We moved in the summer of 09 into their house. Of course they set there mail to be forwarded to the new place and which should have ended in January of 2009. My grandpa and I have the same name except the middle initial, which is on some mail and not on others. My mail that’s addressed to my current residence (my grandparents old home) has the stickers on them to notify the sender that my address is my grandparents new home. So I now have some student loan info/bills, packages, mail etc. going to my grandparents complex, even though their forwarding should have ended a year ago.

My mail person doesn’t close my freakin mail box so my letters get wet.

Ive moved more times than I can recall, actually I think its somewhere around 12 times in the past 3 years. I forward my mail and that works every time, however for packages I am almost 100% positive it says right on the forwarding that it only forwards mail and magazines and that packages don’t forward.

I always update paypal, ebay, etc. as soon as I move just so that anything I buy gets shipped to my current address as I don’t trust forwarding…
