You can run but you can’t hide… oh wait, you can’t run either…
Carbs ftw
Sounds like without a good range on it, it’s only effective when you pass a fixed point.

chicken dinner
Ugh, chicken sounds so good right now.
Should take care of that problem.
I stand by my words.
I think his point is still valid. Just because an officer has this device, doesn’t mean they will ONLY use when absolutely necessary.
Aside from that, I’m curious as to how focused this thing can get. I hope they aren’t just blasting EMP signals in a wide area so that every car in front of it would shut down. Using EMP on something isn’t typically just shutting it down, it’s destroying the electronics. Not saying that this particular device is doing that, but I’d certainly like to know more details.
“Whoops we accidentally turned it on and fried every electronic system in your 2013 mostly computer controlled car”
Time to market a RF shield kit for criminals
And wow it works at up to 50m
Exactly my thoughts… this is destruction of property right there… and not just tires/rims (spike strips) that are easy to replace. With the amount of electronics in a car now a days, this will essentially scrap the entire car. EMPs don’t just shut things off… they vaporize the gold wires that connect the silicone microchips to the circuit boards and vaporize the structure of the silicone microchips themselves.
You mean like guns and tasers?
Yep, it will get used and people will cry about how they shouldn’t have used it. Meanwhile the 99.9999 % of the population that obey the laws or simply pull over like they’re supposed to during a traffic stop will never experience an EMP stop, getting tased or getting shot by police.
Wait, you break the law and you get punished?!
We should start writing laws for the 99.9% of people that aren’t criminals.
Perfect for stopping someone getting away after stealing electricity
To that point, giving police this amount of control for .0001% of people breaking the law is asinine, wouldn’t you say?
We do that now, it’s called gun control.
Maybe ask the family of this innocent girl killed in a crash where police were chasing someone.
Just because the majority of a population follows the laws doesn’t mean you can give those that don’t a free pass. I’m all for anything that brings dangerous high speed pursuits to a quick and safe end.
You mean like cops driving MRAPs around and using military gear just to control .0001% of people?
We need sarcasm font back.
I know lol.
My chicken thing went off.
