Cooking a lady some dinner...

ramen, hot sauce, peanut butter
do it you wont

If you are planning to do anal, I suggest something light.

Fired food + anal = bad.

Ask her to lend a hand and cook with you. Shop for it together, prepare it together.

They always seem to like to show off their domestic skills, while at the same time appreciating your effort. PLUS it gives them a chance to have a say at what the meal is.

I like this approach better than “oh hey, I prepared this for you, hope you like it”

Make a fancy looking salad. You can’t fuck it up, it will be as good as its presentation, doesn’t look like you’re trying to be vegan, and it will keep the broad from getting fat.

Baby lettuce, red onion, thin sliced apple, toasted walnuts, gorgonzola cheese crumbles, oil/vinegar based ressing, sliced plum tomatoes, etc.

Serve with a side of garlic bread, paired with a bottle of wine. Er, no drinking IIRC. Well, don’t overlook the drink.

Don’t forget dessert. Angelfood cake, fresh berries, and cool whip.

why so much emphasis on vegan? your choice or hers?

While this would be a good approach for certain ladies, it’s not the direction I want to go with this particular one…

Eggplant parm man, …solid vegan choice (well, you said you wanted to add some cheese)

I’ve been vegan for 8 years. She is neither vegetarian nor vegan, but

A) I don’t want to make her feel weird for eating some dish I made while I eat some microwaved meal

B) I wanna taste it so I know it’s not fucking gross…

Good to see you rebounded so quickly.

Now get to work on the e30 you schmuck, and let someone else prepare the damn food.

I like Fry’s idea

Eggplant Parm can be good, but you’re taking on chance on her liking it, imo

ah. well, good luck. I edited my original post. lol

I read that as “cooking foreigners”

I’d go with the fancy salad. With a balsamic vinegar. And romaine lettuce!

ROFL

ctnewman - I guess you could look up “One Pot meals” - see what comes up… seeing as you’ve got one pot.

With Broccoli!!

This sounds tasty:

Marinated Tempeh with Red Peppers and Broccoli Rabe

Marinade:

4 t. tamari, soy sauce, or Bragg Liquid Aminos
4 t. olive oil
1 T. balsamic vinegar
1 T. garlic, minced
1 t. Dijon or brown mustard
1 t. dried basil
1 t. dried oregano
1/2 t. onion powder
1/2 t. paprika
1/2 t. crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 t. freshly ground black pepper

8 oz. tempeh, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
1/2 cup shallots, diced
1 T. olive oil
1 lb. broccoli rabe, washed well, and roughly cut into bite-sized pieces
1 cup red pepper, destemmed, deseeded, and diced
1 T. garlic, minced
4 t. nutritional yeast flakes
salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

In a medium bowl, whisk together all of the marinade ingredients. Add the tempeh cubes and toss gently to thoroughly coat with the marinade. Cover, place the bowl in the refrigerator, and allow the tempeh to marinate for 1 hour or more. After 1 hour, transfer the tempeh cubes to a non-stick skillet, and cook, while stirring often, for 8-10 minutes or until the tempeh is well browned and crisp around the edges. Remove the skillet from the heat, transfer the tempeh to a plate, and set aside.

Wipe out the skillet, return it to medium heat, and saute the shallots in the olive for 2 minutes to soften slightly. Add the broccoli rabe and continue to saute the mixture for an additional 5 minutes. Add the red pepper and garlic and saute an additional 3 minutes. Add the reserved tempeh, nutritional yeast flakes, and season the mixture to taste with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Stir well and continue to cook the mixture an additional 1-2 minutes to allow the flavors to blend. Serve as a main dish, side dish, or toss with cooked grains or pasta for a heartier dish.

Serves 2-4

Saw this on the TODAY show this morning. Sounds Fing amazing…

Portobello mushroom pizza’s. As in the actual mushroom is the pizza. I imagine all you would need is one knife and an oven.(pizza shown around 3:00 into video) http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/26184891/vp/33070721#33070721

The Mediterranean Pasta sounds good too. Don’t cop out and do plain ol’ pasta. This one had artichoke hearts, fire roasted tomatoes, black olives, whole wheat noodles and a light sauce. You can buy all the ingredients in jars, no prep required.

*substitute fillers with vegan crap.
