you don’t ever download things at home? the nice thing about the application is that without doing anything if you’re running from battery it will sleep like normal when closed.
I guess I just consider laptops to be fragile when open and expensive so anytime I’m not actively using it I want the lid closed.
nope, I use my desktop for downloading and such. This is only used for browsing the web and email while on the couch, as well as school/work.
I have a desktop also… haven’t used it for anything other than a file server in years… what’s the point, my laptop does everything and the extent of my online gaming is backgammon.
same here. This laptop is a bit old though. I just use the desktop as a fileserver and everything I need, I just access remotely. Its much easier that way, I get to conserve battery life on my laptop and just plop it shut whenever I feel like it.

and another reason besides downloading is i like to have an away message on aim but when i close it it sleeps and quits outta ichat
