encon officers have a lot of power, I just did a little reading, right from the horses mouth:
http://www.cga.ct.gov/2006/pridata/Studies/DEP_EnconPolice_Final_Report.htm
Its for CT, but I bet the laws are VERY similar state to state.

don’t forget, SUNY police officers ALSO have the same policing power as regular officers. A few years back I sat in the passenger seat laughing as my friend got pulled over and ticketed by a SUNY plattsburgh officer. I even made it better by specifically asking him what rights they had, then looking at him and saying “see, I fucking told you dumbass”
yea, i never knew till a few years back that suny campus police can do what regular cops can. kinda surprising, i mean youd think its just campus security and whatever but u dont want tickets from them speeding around campus, its just as bad as regular tickets
so i told my lawyer how they searched my car after i was hand cuffed and they found nothing… then told him how they threw me in the back of paddy wagon and never buckled me in… everything got dropped from saturday because of the bruises on my wrists mental distress and illegal search and seizure… so if and when you all think these colonie pigs are “Just Doing Their Jobs” when in doubt get a lawyer cause i got a chance to fix my suspensions and not have to pay the new one… so they WEREN’T JUST DOING THERE JOBS… Colonie Pigs FTL
uhhh, they were just doing their jobs. Most likely dropped charges since going through all the legal mess wouldn’t be worth all the trouble. Happens all the time. Lawyers can make minor traffic offenses a huge pain in the ass for the county/town. They are not gonna spend all this time and resources for a small monetary amount. Just cause you got it dismissed does NOT mean they weren’t doing their job.
one thing i dont like is that sometimes cops tend to unload on you if theyve had a bad day or something like that. i had a couple scream at me like i offended their mother right infront of them. I’ve had a number of jobs where I had to deal with people and Ive had my share of bad mood days or having a crummy week or whatever, but I never blew up at the customers in the store or whatever. i know the cops are supposed to use an authority type voice commands and whatnot, but this was just yelling. like if u play inside the house and break your mom’s favorite vase or picture frame or something and just get chewed out. it was just like that. plain scolding. i really hate it when ppl talk down to me. this is a huge sign of disrespect to me and after that i cant show respect for the person talking anymore. if you dont respect me i wont respect you. its okay in a normal convo where u can just say “whatever, man” and just walk off, but it doesnt fly with a cop. you cant just be like “dude, stop being rude to me. its not my problem u had a shitty day and now u feel like taking it out on somebody who cant say shit back to you” and then just roll up ur window and drive off. doesnt work like that, so u have to sit there and take it. ive had a couple of cops that were super polite and very professional to me and it didnt really upset me that i just got a 4-6pt ticket, it was the approach. yea, it can be frustrating to deal with something as silly as speeding 11 over all day, but you shouldnt let that bother you and take it out on the people around you. i had my fair share of dumbass questions at one of my old jobs when i worked in a shipping store. example: i get a phone call and dude asks “do you have popcorn?” first few times i was like “what are you people talking about? popcorn? im not a movie theater lobby, i dont sell snacks. we ship packages and such” apparently what it was that people called shipping peanuts “popcorn”. you know those foam little things in boxes so ur shit doesnt break? i’d get the “popcorn” question 15 times a day and i just let it go, because i knew it will happen again and its no big deal. im sure cops get frustrated all the time and some days are worse than others. they do have to be on toes because anything can happen. it can be tough to asess a threat sometimes so theyre just kinda rough on everyone to be safe.
Schenectady and Glenville…And they enjoy using them constantly. My friend got pulled over 5 times in two days for expired registration due to some insurance b.s. :confused
doing there jobs is arresting me and bringing me in for bail… not illegally searching your vehicle… have it happen to you and then tell me its ok they’re just “doing their job”… then you wont see it so nicely…
Illegal search? Sounds like the court doesn’t know their own law? I can’t imagine how it’s illegal given you were arrested? Oh well.
ummm… there job is to enforce the law and you drove with a suspended license and got caught… therefore you get arrested (their job). I don’t know of any situation where someone gets arrested and they don’t search the car… what is so illegal about them searching your car AFTER you are already arrested?
I understand your upset over this whole thing (as I would be too if it was me), but it is not the cops fault that you broke the law and got caught.
not just schenec and glenville have them I’ve got pulled over by a Saratoga Springs cop because “The $20k machine on the top of his car couldn’t read my front plate” to which I should have replied “well your eyes are free and it’s in plain view” but I politely ‘informed’ him that my car was one of 45 models imported from France legally to the united state and does not have a place to put an American license plate…I was like ‘see the fenders? those are the Motorsport stripes, exclusive to these special models, it’s also why the car retains the European glass headlights and turn signals, and has the s50b32 engine’
so he goes ‘…well, you need to have a front plate mounted to the front of this vehicle…consider this a warning’
:rofl
Totally bullshit. Although there WERE 45 French Euro-Spec E36 M3’s imported into Canad, none of them have or had fender stripes :rofl.
Point of the story is a TON of local/county PD’s have them, if you see 2-4 camera looking things pointing off each corner of the roof, and you’re insurance is up/license suspended/reg suspended, chances are you’re pretty screwed…the parking enforcement people in schenec were some of the first in the area to get them, and i talked to one of them and he told me the machines have the capability of scanning 500 plates a minute…they even drive right through apt complexes, parking lots, you name it looking for violations, and when you come out to your car BAM ticket.
wow thats fucking weak police ftl
Hey, it’s effective and the guy who made that machine is a BADASS.
That technology is hot shit, picks up ANY reflective surface ie: road signs and license plates…really cool technology.
so if you sprayed that clear shit that makes your liscense plate unscannable you’d be good? or is that stuff illegal?
If they see you going down the road, and their machine cant scan it, they will pull you over, hence my saratoga story.
Oh :headbang
This is where i post my obligatory anti pig post. Fuck the pigs, they’re job and there lives. There are real concerns in america that they don’t address cuz they are lazy good for nothing pieces of shit. Come down to my neighborhood and continue this discussion. South troy verse the world bitches!
Whoa :runaway
Someone needs to vent there problems…
EPIC SIG :rofl
