So I was wondering this the other day, does anyone know a rough cost on pavement driveways. Est about 150 ft x 12 ft… To be honest I doubt I would do it, but I’ve definitely though about it more than a few times
Concrete would be aboot $6000-$7000 depending.
lol… concrete would be about 2x that much.
1800sq ft x $10/ft = $18,000
A friend of mine gave me a discounted quote @ $9/ft.
Blacktop/pavement will be about $6-7k with today’s prices.
I highly recommend Seitz Paving… great guys, amazing work. Their prices are very cheap. If you find someone cheaper, be prepared to call Seitz to come and fix it when they’re done.

Holy shit your high! I just got my driveway quoted from Broad Spectrum, 1/2lb charcoal , with stamped colored border + walkway for $5.75 / sqft. I have about 1200sqft total (4in thick). Pavement was a little cheaper, but I want the durability.
I just had 600 sq/ft done last week for $2000. Broad quoted $3000.(Yeah, 50% more)
I also had stamped done a couple weeks ago, I paid $2900 for 440 sq/ft and a step included.
^ who did you go through?
Torre Concrete. The stamped wasn’t what I would call perfect(I am picky) but the driveway was. He did my gagrage floor a couple years ago also.
Damn thats cheap. How much stone was under that 4"? Granted, stone is cheap, I understand that… but with 8" of stone comes labor. Was it 4" in the center or 2" like your typical residential driveway?
At those rates… I have about 3600sq ft I could do afford-ably (as much as 20k can be affordable) instead of mixing pavement and concrete.
I was literally talking to someone about it this week. Maybe I misunderstood?
^Almost no stone on the driveway because it was already 24" thick. The concrete was anywhere from 4" to 6" thick (4000 psi and mesh).
They have to remove my asphalt drive (about 976sqft) and the rest is new construction for a pull off. So it includes new stone under the new. I didn’t ask what the dept of the stone will be, but I probably should, haven’t gotten that far yet. The mix is for 4500psi using the fiber in lieu of rebar.
Broad spectrum gave us a great quote last week we may try calling these other guys.
I guess mesh or fiber is the way to go these days. I already have a good foundation, and I e-mailed Torre.
This could end up saving me a lot of money. Appreciate the heads up guys.
Fiber mesh with Wire mesh is the way to go, especially on a driveway.
Some pics of completed work would be nice
I used fiber in my basement and it cracked like the San Andreas fault. The guy told me I didn’t need mesh with fiber. Fucker.
We use actual bar along with fiber. I have heard people say over and over that fiber can replace rebar or mesh, bullshit.
a friend’s parents i know used just the fiber on their driveway a few years back. No cracks at all, except where they’re supposed to be.
And sometimes driveways with mesh still crack, it’s just that if you are investing that much money into a nice driveway you would be retarded to not insist on both.
^True BUT the mesh keeps it from separating. Like I said my basement looks like the San Andreas fault. With mesh the cracks stay small. At work our floor has tons of little cracks but it has a double layer of #6 rebar in both directions, it aint goin’ no where(its not going anywhere.).
Thanks guys. 6-7 is actually a lot cheaper than I expected to hear.
