It will cost you possibly a bit cheaper than a sr unless you get a really good deal on a clip or engine set.
The main thing you would save on is the engine set, but there are alot of things you might want to add; fmic, bigger turbo, ecu, mafs, fuelpump, fuel controller, boost controller.

For right now im just thinking of the motor really, as my motor is “past its prime at almost 400000 km” So i want somthing thats not going to run me a ton of cash that is workable in the future.
I can pick a complete motor set up for just under or at 2G’s what am i looking at to just get it in after that origional cost, to just get the motor in and running?
Try to save up at least about 4-4.5g for the swap.

Start pricing things out, although everything may only come upto 3g through initial pricing, you should save up a bit more just incase you run into something unexpected that you would want to get.
Would you prefer to spend 8500k to have one registered in your name from Japan. I have one coming up shortly thats fairly built.

Is that a typo in your Subject? Ca18ets don’t need to be imported, they were available here and can be purchased for under $1000 complete and in good shape. They’d be way easier to install in an S13/14 than an SR (motor is older, needs fewer wires to run, and will bolt to your factory mounts).
The question more is why? They make less power than a KAE (130hp). If you’re serious about the SOHC CA, let me know, and I’ll hook you up. They can make over 200whp pretty easily, and on stock fuel if you know what to do, and can handle your own fab (zero aftermarket)
I’m assuming you want a ca18DET though …
God if you want to go with the CA18ET there are 2 200sx’s at the wreckers here in kingson that run perf and can be bought for $500 each (motor, tranny, driveshaft, wiring, ECU)

let me know i have already done tones of work to it and replaced alot of stuff on it to insure it runs like a champion

-new rear main oil seal
-new ngk sparkplugs
-professionally cleaned injectors
-new thermostat
etc
